JOB DESCRIPTION Title: Java Developer II Location: Bangalore, India

Java Developers are responsible for all aspects of the software development lifecycle: requirements, story creation, story grooming and sizing, design, documenting design, coding, unit testing, code reviews, deployment planning and execution, support and training/demoing of released work. They will be needed to work in an agile environment with other developers, scrum masters, product owners, and managers to communicate business and technical aspects of the UVG platform and build technical designs, develop solutions, lead proof of concepts, and help with rollouts/implementations.

ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Work closely with team members like product owners, architects, project managers, test managers, database, and quality team to deliver product features, releases and technical POCs with high quality and in timely manner. • Build reusable code for future use. • Design application modules and features for high performance, scalability, security and availability. • Maintain code & write unit tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality • Participate in agile ceremonies to groom stories and develop defect-free code for the stories. • Perform peer code reviews and ensure good quality of deliverables. • Good analytical, grasping and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High levels of initiative and creativity. • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with people at all levels. • Exhibit strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. • Work effectively both independently and as a member of a cross functional team.

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS

• Relevant years of experience in web applications development using Spring Framework with expertise on Core Java, J2EE and other related technologies • In-depth understanding of Object Oriented Programming concepts. • Hands on experience in the development project using Collections, POJOs, Data Models, etc. • Proven ability in Web Service implementation (RESTful and SOAP) • Working knowledge of Spring Framework or Spring Boot. • Good working exposure to relational databases like Oracle, MySQL etc. • Knowledge on frameworks like Apache camel. • Experience working on BPM/BRMS technologies like JBoss EAP & RedHat Business Central. • Experience working with Identity/Access Management Tools like RH-SSO, Keycloak, etc • Demonstrate experience in creating and implementing API’s • Continued education and research into API development trends and current design strategy and technology • Ability to take on general problems and define/design practical solutions. • Ability to mentor other developers in technical, process or business process aspects. • Ability to clearly document and diagram requirements and designs. • Needs to be subject matter expert in the platform for which he/she develops in. • Needs to grow into being a subject matter expert for the business processes supported by their platform. • Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to optimize code for the best possible outcome • Optimize API for maximum speed and scalability

Requirements • Understanding of the entire API development process, with an emphasis on backend design and development. • Solid grasp of Core Java, J2EE and other related technologies. • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. • Flexibility to adapt to changing instructions and requirements. • Writing unit test with Junit or similar. • 2+ years Backend/API experience required.
