About the Role

Position Title:Global Financial Crimes Compliance Monitoring, Assistant Vice President

Job Profile

Purpose of Role

• Responsible for supporting the Global Financial Crimes Compliance Testing(GFCCT) function and managing, or participating, in as an individual contributor, a team performing financial crimes compliance (AML, Sanctions, ABC) reviews, with a focus on ongoing monitoring.

Main Responsibilities

• Participate on a team executing targeted reviews of anti-money laundering, sanctions, and anti- bribery & corruption controls, owned by the First and Second Line of Defense to detect potential emerging risk(s) and/or control performance deficiencies that will trigger additional action, expanded testing reviews and/or inform the Annual Testing
• Plan where required.
• Assist in developing a globally centralized monitoring function in coordination with other existing global and regional testing and governance structures.
• Assist in evaluating Management Information (MI) reports, key performance indicators (KPIs), key risk indicators (KRIs) and samples (where relevant) applicable to FC controls to identify control performance exceptions.
• Assist in the collection and analysis of data (data retrieval and analysis activities), to support FC controls reviews/monitoring.
• Assist in the drafting of review reports to document and independently communicate to GFCD Management key control review/monitoring results.
• Through risk-based monitoring and analysis, recommend targeted control areas for testing or deeper assessment.
• Assist in developing monitoring plans, approach, and scripts, that incorporate regulatory expectations, industry developments and lessons learned.
• Assist in enhancing and maintaining quality control processes to drive adherence to Global Standards and Procedures.
• Assist in tracking internal and industry wide developments, such as changes in the regulatory environment, which may necessitate ad hoc monitoring/testing
• Support general compliance activities and other duties, including special projects as assigned.

Candidate Profile

Skills and knowledge

• Knowledge of financial crimes compliance laws and regulations.
• Data analytics experience using SQL and related tools.
• Understanding of complex System Architectures to assist in developing test/monitoring plans leveraging financial crimes systems data (Actimize and or HotScan architecture experience and/or other AML compliance systems).
• Understanding of cross-border data movement and data privacy requirements.
• Familiarity with cross-border payment standards and systems including knowledge of various complex data formats, conducting data analysis and documenting results.
• Strong command over Microsoft Office Suite( i.e. Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word).
• Excellent problem solving skills and ability to succeed in emerging or undefined spaces.
• Knowledge of Transaction Banking applications and technologies will be an advantage.
• Excellent judgment and analytical skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Some travel may be required, domestic and international.
• Education & professional qualifications
• Bachelors Degree or above
• JD , CPA and/or CAMS a plus

Experience

• Overall experience of 10-15 years
• At least 7 years of experience within the financial crimes area of a global bank, consulting firm or regulatory agency.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with monitoring, testing or audit efforts in, or exposure to, quality control or quality management functions and results a plus.
