Trade Services Operations, Trade Operations-VP

Job Summary

This function will be responsible for managing the Capgemini Trade Operations Servicing Team in India, supporting MUFG Bank, Ltd., New York Branch.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Member Offshore Unit based out in ODCs, servicingTrade finance back-office operations. Typical activities include booking, processing, issuance of Commercial and Standby Letter of Credit, , Advising Export LCs , handling of Documentary Collection, document examination, settlement of bills, Supply Chain Finance Payable & Receivables etc.
• Ensure all trade transactions are managed appropriately, minimizing operational risks and losses, and ensuring compliance with all bank policies and procedures
• Act as main point of contact related to SOX testing, internal and external audit requests, issue escalation, etc.
• Minimize population of KRIs, SOW deviation, and exception items within the space
• Coordinate with the VP for support on initiatives, including technology or infrastructure enhancements, system upgrade and replacement efforts, human capital discussions, etc. and ensure appropriate resource allocation, business requirements, SME knowledge, testing, and implementation
• Design and implement departmental structural and procedural changes where necessary
• Performance management, including setting objectives, performance evaluations, disciplinary procedures

Qualifications

• Minimum 15-18years of experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Trade finance products, UCP, ISBP, URC, URR, ISP and other ICC guidelines. Trade based money laundering (TBML)/ AML/Sanction screening understanding is a must.
• In-depth knowledge of Trade finance regulations, Market initiatives aimed at streamlining and improving settlement automation and servicing, including API integration with industry standard platforms, paperless process, Blockchain, DLT, OCR, Robotics/Automation
• Deep understanding of Commodity Trade Finance transactions and trade lending products.
• Management experience, including managing a remote team
• Comfortable interacting with senior internal and external stakeholders, including the Banks Clients, Investors, Issuing Banks, Correspondent relationships and regulators.
• Ability to analyze and streamline operational processes, improving productivity and efficiency
• Knowledge of systems used to manage the Trade finance processes like Trade360, sanction screening application, workflow tools are required.
