Oracle APPS DBA (10+ Yrs of experience) Job description:

• Installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle EBS Application R12.1 and R12.2 and database from 12c to 19c.
• Analyze performance issues in the application, concurrent manager and database tiers of E-Business Suite installations.
• Manage resources to provide assistance to development teams with tuning database queries, reviewing and testing patches, configuration and code migrations. Develop purging, archiving, and cloning strategies
• Single node & Multi Node cloning of EBS R12.2 and 19c database Instances in Normal and Shared Appltop Architecture.
• Monitoring and bouncing the application related products like oacore, oafm, apache, weblogic, forms & Reports etc.
• Starting, Stopping and troubleshooting the Oracle EBS application and databases. Administration of WebLogic Servers.
• Applying Database patches using OPATCH, OPATCHAUTO utility in RAC environment, Application Patches using ADOP and Weblogic patches using BSU utility
• Troubleshoot performance issues related to database and concurrent manager, using explain plan and TOP, VMSTAT, TKPROF, AWR, ADDM, FND Debug etc.
• Carry out DBA work related to Backup, Recovery, Imports, Exports, Schema Refresh/Creation, Patching, Migration of Databases, EBS Application and Weblogic.
• Good knowledge on AD Utilities and their usage database maintenance.
• User Management of EBS R12.2, Creating responsibility, assigning responsibility to users.
• Implement, enforce and adhere to Disaster Recovery plan for Database and EBS platforms
• Setting up LBR for multi nodes.
• Configuring TLS/SSL on all oracle products (DB and APP).
• Rapid Cloning of EBS R12.2, Concurrent Manager Tuning, Tuning of Java Heap size, ADSPLICE, ADCTRL, ADMERGE etc.
• Patching using ADOP (ONLINE, HOTPATCH, DOWNTIME Mode) Utility.
• Purging the log of Concurrent Manager, Concurrent request, OHS, WebLogic etc.
• Administration of Concurrent Managers and Concurrent Processing server.
• Installation of Oracle EBS R12.2.0 and Upgradation of EBS R12.2.X
• Multi-node handling of Oracle EBS application and RAC databases on exadata
• Performing Cloning of Application, Online Patching, RDF compile, Form Compile, APPS Schema Compilation using ADADMIN, FNDCPASS, Password Management of APPS, DB, MIDDLEWARE, Performance ISSUE of Applications etc.
• Upgrading database from 12c to 19c
• Managing multiple databases in 24*7 environment.

L3 Apps DBAs (Roles and Responsibilities)

L3 Apps DBAs mainly work on high end issues like:

• Installing Oracle EBS R12.2.0 and Upgrading to EBS R12.2.X
• Installing and upgrading database from 12c to 19c.
• Administering, Troubleshooting and Handling Alerts raised by alert monitoring system from Database and applications
• Tablespace Reorg Activities to improve the performance/to reclaim the unused space
• Schema Reorg Activities to improve the performance
• Patch Analysis where there is a patch needs to be applied
• Backups and issues related to them
• Query response time and other Performance Issues
• Work with Oracle Support by raising SRs on several issues
• Monitoring Standby Databases and resolve respective issues
• Importing data according to the user request and maintenance of oracle production, development and QA databases.
• Administration of Concurrent Managers and Concurrent Processing server.
• Compiling of Forms & Reports for Oracle Application.
• Performed Application admin tasks using ADADMIN Utility.
• Data Refresh Using RMAN, expdp/impdp, adpreclone.pl, adcfgclone.pl
• Rapid Cloning of EBS R12.2 with multi node.
• Patching AD and TXK Delta using ADOP (ONLINE, HOTPATCH, DOWNTIME Mode ) Utility.
• Purging the log of Concurrent Manager, Concurrent request, OHS, WebLogic etc.
• Issues related to space management, Locks, database hit ratios, Backup Failures and database related on call alerts.
• Monitoring and reorganizing database objects to minimize fragmentation in the database.
• User and security management by using auditing, Roles and Profiles.
• Quarterly Password rotation and Applying PSU patches
• Managing RAC database on Exadata.
• Applying latest ETCC patches on EBS application and database.
