Qualifications:
Minimum of a related two-year College diploma.
Experience in one or more of the following: sales/marketing/PR/student recruitment or career guidance would be an asset.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
Combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Recent Alumni of Northern Lakes College would be considered an asset

Job Description
Title: Student Recruiter
Department: Learner Services
Major Job Function:
The Student Recruiter is responsible for marketing and promoting the programs of Northern Lakes College to potential students and responding to inquiries from potential students on various programs. The primary function of this position is to maximize each opportunity to market programs to meet or exceed the enrollment targets for the College.
Duties and responsibilities
This individual is responsible to provide detailed information about programs, courses, services, and advise prospective student on career possibilities, and the opportunities that are available at Northern Lakes College, as well as the application process.
Visits middle schools, high schools, colleges and Educational Liaison Association of Alberta (ELAA) events, speaks to groups and individual students, and meets with school counsellors to promote College programming.
Attending off-campus events as needed including career fairs, tradeshows and high school visits representing Northern Lakes College.
Coordinates community workshops and arranges visits from prospective students and parents.
Serves as a liaison to develop partnerships between the College and local school systems throughout the province.
Distributes resource materials for student recruitment and retention programs; analyzes trends in recruitment and retention programs; develops strategies for program evaluation.
Participates in developing student recruitment and retention plans, strategies, and written materials.
Assist with the annual review and update of recruitment materials/publications including, but not limited to: Viewbook, Recruitment PowerPoint presentation, and displays
Prepares reports and proposals and responds to inquiries from students and agencies.
Deliver on campus tours.
Develop material for self-guided campus tours.
Provides information regarding residence for prospective students.
Collaborates with Student Services and Student Success to provide a seamless transition from inquiry to applicant.
Planning and participating in campus events such as Open Houses and Information Sessions.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Willingness to work some weekends and evenings.
Skills/Knowledge:
Strong computer skills with knowledge in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
Ability to develop, plan, and implement short and long-range goals.
Extensive knowledge of Northern Lakes College programs and learner services.
Knowledge of student recruitment and retention issues.
Knowledge of the student funding process.
A positive attitude and customer-focused approach
Ability to analyze course prerequisites, certification, and curriculum/graduation requirements.
Organizing and coordinating skills.
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Able to drive and willing to travel.
