NOV Hiring for Supplier Development Specialist (India) at Chennai, Tamil Nadu Full Time

CLOSING DATE 7th NOVEMBER 2022. 

The Specialist will assist in the strategy creation, direction and alignment to global ISE WLF Operations goals and objectives.  Your ability to co-ordinate Far East supplier with a cross-functional team at varying levels across all regions, to incorporate the requirements of key stakeholders, whilst ensuring alignment across the business will be crucial to success of the ISE WLF Operations group globally. The primary project for this role with be diversifying product supply routes out of Singapore but within Far East region to create a position where supply can meet demand.  

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Central focal point, management, and coordination of India supply chain on behalf of ISE WLF Operations.
• As required to provide technical support to India supply chain, to include dimension and documentation inspection.
• As required to provide technical support to India supply chain, on how to produce NOV product components to include training on understanding the product requirement of NOV drawing and technical specification (i.e. EMS)
• To establish a supply route from India into the global WPCE and WLT Product Line.
• Manage local supplier relationships related to technical product requirements.
• Proactively participate in regular supplier reviews including supplier visits, quarterly business review meetings and the use of supplier quality audits. 
• Rationalise the vendor portfolio to ensure critical supply products are proactively managed for example Just-In-Time delivery, live supplier stock holding, and dynamic supplier capacity management.
• Estimate Project timelines, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
• Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.
• Work with the manufacturing department or subcontract parties and help them understand the technical concepts that should be looked after during the manufacturing process of the products.
• Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques in order to keep the project plan accurate, updated, reflective of authorized project changes as defined in the change management plan, and facilitate customer acceptance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Diploma in engineering or operations related discipline with related experience
• Secondary Qualification in Business Operations or related discipline

EXPERIENCE: 

• Min. 5 years’ experience within outsourcing with vendors from India, and South East Asia.
• Min. 5 years’ knowledge of mechanical product in WPCE & WLT.
• Min. 5 years’ knowledge in measuring equipment capability vs WPCE and WLT product requirement.
• Min. 5 years’ knowledge in conducting audit on vendors on process and procedure qualification.
• Proven experience of identifying & implementing QA process and procedure for oil and gas industrial.
• Proven experience in identify WPCE and WLT product manufacturing process weakness.
• Experience within outsourcing.
• Knowledge of Prince II methodologies 
• Working knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering environments.

SKILLS, TRAINING, OR SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE:

• Good knowledge in WPCE and WLT product’s profile criticality.
• Basic knowledge in using SQL in link with SAGE ERP system.
• Demonstrable ability to drive projects through task allocation and influencing skills.
• Able to provide clear and structured methodologies making things simple for others to understand and replicate.
• Flexible to travel with 20-30% of the time.
• Six Sigma Black Belt.
