Position: Research Associate – Jindal Institute of Haryana Studies (JIHS)

Location: Sonipat, Haryana

Jindal Institute of Haryana Studies (JIHS) at O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) is inviting applications for the Research Associate position. The Institute will address critical developmental challenges, ensuring equity, sustainability, and community empowerment. The Institute will fill this gap in the context of Haryana, remaining committed to designing effective, implementable policies towards achieving a safe, secure, and dignified living for all citizens.

Role Overview:

You’ll be part of a dynamic team working with affiliated faculty on ongoing research projects on various aspects of the state of Haryana, focusing on the labour market, health, and education, among others. Responsibilities include data cleaning, fieldwork execution, report writing, and collaborating on ongoing research projects.

Key Requirements:

1. Master’s in Economics / Sociology / Development Studies / Public Health / Public Policy, with a maximum of two years of post-Master’s experience (final year students completing by May 2025 may also apply)

2. Knowledge of statistical software such as STATA or R is required. Familiarity with a programming language such as Python is a plus

3. Experience with datasets like PLFS/NSS, IHDS, NFHS

4. Familiarity with the principal problems and the structure of the Indian economy is desired.

5. Prior experience of working in the field and/or with the government is desired.

Contract: 1-year (extendable)
