Oracle’s Project Management Cloud product development team is looking for a high energy Senior Applications Engineer with creative ideas around building oracle fusion applications. The team’s goal is to build the next generation of project management applications based on the latest market trends and technological advances. Our team of highly capable Software Engineers spans multiple time zones and works in a DevOps model to deliver solutions that are core to Oracle’s revenue growth. Design and build application features for the Oracle Project Management product family using Oracle Fusion middleware technology. Collaborate with top product and usability design experts to drive the next generation of enterprise resource planning solutions few examples of our current projects include: bringing consumer-grade search experiences to our customers, designing and developing chatbots based on rapidly evolving NLP and machine learning technologies, pushing the boundaries of interactive and rich visual user experiences. Responsibilities
Become a part of the Oracle Project Management development team to help build the new features of the product to meet the demands of the market. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

• Share your business domain experience of applications solutions like People Soft, Oracle EBS or other equivalent enterprise solution, to help build product features for Oracle Project Management.
• Create high level designs based on business requirements.
• Analyze and integrate external customer requirements.
• Analyze the architecture, design, and implementation of existing products with a focus on improving scalability, performance, extensibility and security
• Use your Java and J2EE experience to specify, design and implement software architecture.
• Write detailed design and code specifications.
• Write and test high quality code and modules using Oracle tools restful api, micro services, (Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF), Java, J2EE, XML Schema, XSLT, PL/SQL).
• Review peers designs and code.
• Debug and fix issues that are found in the OCI fleet or reported by Enterprise customers.
• Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others.
• Design and perform module, system, and integration testing.

Detailed Description

• Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
• As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
• Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others
• Interact with various development organizations like Product Management, Quality Assurance, Documentation, Product Management, Release, Operations, Porting, Support and other product development organizations to help build product features, taking them through the entire development life cycle.
• Review specifications/designs created by product managers and create detailed technical designs based on them.
• Actively participate in planning, scheduling and implementation activities related to product development.
• Create and execute unit test and unit test plans.
• Review integration and regression test plans created by QA.

Job Requirements

• 5-10 years application development experience
• Domain expert in applications solutions like People Soft, Oracle EBS and any other equivalent enterprise solution.
• Technically skilled in Java, J2EE, XML, XSLT, PL/SQL.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related field
• Previously involved in the development of large, complex commercial applications, ideally project accounting/job costing/billing/financial applications
• Proven skills in designing enterprise class software components
• Proven skill in using design patterns to create robust software architectures
• Interest in building commercial business applications
• Intelligent, fast learner
• Driven to deliver results
• Team player yet able to work independently
• A basic understanding of accounting concepts is desirable.

Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will perform high-level design based on provided external specifications. Specify, design and implement minor changes to existing software architecture. Build highly complex enhancements and resolve complex bugs. Build and execute unit tests and unit plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering as necessary to discuss minor changes to product functionality and to ensure quality and consistency across specific products.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
