This team will closely work with Product Development & QA to understand the requirements, deployment environments, and use case scenarios to enable them to develop and test. Oracle is looking for a Senior Database Administrator to be part of the Life Sciences Group.

Successful candidate will be experienced in FMW Products and Oracle Database administration, results driven and passionate about delivering great solutions to enable faster product delivery by up taking latest best practices in the IT-Ops space. The candidate should be experienced and hands-on, with solid analytical skills, problem solving with great team working and collaboration capabilities to work with product development teams to deliver solutions as per the business demands.

Technical Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in Computer Science Engineering or a relevant field.

More than 5 years of experience in a Database administrator (or similar role) involving FMW (Fusion Middleware) and Oracle Database.

Solid experience and knowledge in FMW Products such as Weblogic 12c, Identity and Access Management (IDCS), OBIEE/ODI, SOA B2B, Axway/B2BI.

Experienced in Installation, Patching and troubleshooting issues in FMW products.

Efficient in performing DB upgrades from 11g to 19c.

Experienced in creating, upgrading and maintaining of multi-tenant databases.

Weblogic administration involving deployment of builds, creation of data sources, upgrade and troubleshooting is fundamental for the role.

Performing database administration activities in a safe, recoverable and professional manner that ensures optimal operation of all database environments.

Exposure on RMAN, ASM, AD Utilities, DB patching, Refresh/cloning etc.

Knowledgeable in Cloud Computing administration. Exposure to OCI will be given preference.

Strong experience with Linux-based infrastructures is mandatory.

Knowledge of scripting languages such as Shell or Python is desirable.

Troubleshooting skills with the ability to spot issues before they become problems.

Interpersonal Skills and Experience

Performing capacity monitoring and short and long-term capacity planning in collaboration with development resources, system administrators and system architects.

Proposing solutions, identifying tools, and generating procedures to ensure an efficient, consistent, repeatable environment.

Maintaining security according to best practices and generating security solutions that balance auditor requirements with user requirements.

Participating in 24×7 on calls as necessary per business needs.

Strong communication skills and ability to explain protocol and processes with team and management.

Actively participate in discussions and meetings with development and QA to find ways to quicken the operations.

Current with industry trends, IT ops and industry best practices, and able to identify the ones we should implement.

Time and project management skills, with the capability to prioritize and multitask as needed.

The candidate should be a good team player. His responsibilities would include Collaboration with Application Development teams for gathering information, triage, etc.

Provide Development and/or Production support. This includes creating primary database storage structures, designing and creating primary objects, modifying database structure as necessary for enhancements or performance, creating documentation, and creating plans. Monitor and optimize performance of the database, plan for backup and recovery of the database, and allocate system storage and plan future storage needs. Create database-related scripts and programs to support development and production environments. Research, evaluate, design, test, recommend, and plan implementation of new or improved RDBMS, ETL and database tools.
