Job Description
Partners with customers, sales, engineering and product teams to design, demonstrate and deploy Oracle Cloud architectures that address customer business problems. Drives Oracle Cloud customer consumption by accelerating the adoption of Oracle cloud services including discovery, design and deployment.
Engages with strategic customers, builds leadership relationships at multiple levels within organizations in order to design and implement solutions. Works directly with customers to gather requirements, develop architectures and translates business needs into solutions. May implement solutions and ensure successful deployments through code development and scripting. Displays product/application understanding through highly customized presentation demonstrations to customers, and at conferences, and events. Supports customer from Proof of Concept (POC) through production deployment of services via resource configuration, planning, and customer education/training. Creates and distributes technical assets (white papers, solution code, blog posts, and video demonstrations). Serves as a leading contributor for customers and sales on technical cloud solutions and customer success. Identifies gaps and enhancements to influence engineering roadmaps for customer driven features. Leading contributor, may provide direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. May interact with C level. Maintains expertise by staying current on emerging technologies.
Minimum qualifications include: 8 years experience with computer applications and tools required. Ability to travel 50% international and domestic.
Preferred but not required qualifications include: Bachelor of Science-level university degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering from accredited university; and/or relevant 8 years technical experience. Advanced degree in relevant field of studies highly desirable. Expertise in and an in depth and thorough knowledge of competitive and industry knowledge in the field of computer applications and tools; System and application design; Implementation of advanced product features; Project management; Solving technical problems with customers in technical environments; Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; Needs analysis, positioning, and business justification. 8 years experience and expertise in the clear communication of technical information to others through presentations, demonstrations, written communication and consultative solutioning experience.

North America Cloud Engineering is looking for experienced cloud domain deep technology architects who will drive a program focused on customer production environment performance experience and ensure timely delivery of customer Go-Lives.

What is Go Live Assurance?
The Go-Live Assurance program provides project managed assistance to a planned customer’s Go-Live. It is a standardized, best-practices-based program to successful Go-Lives and removes customer product cutover risk concerns due to factors outside their control. This is an augmented service to fill in any gaps in the current plan, and make sure customers have a single touch point to coordinate all of their needs during the Go-live phase.
What You’ll Do
As a member of the North America Cloud Engineering organization, your focus is to ensure that all new database implementations are as per best practices and will perform optimally after they go live. You will also serve as an advocate for customer needs. This involves owning and resolving go-live performance challenges as it comes, working closely with internal performance teams for additional support, presenting RCAs as needed.
As a Principal Performance Architect, you will interface with the customer’s IT staff on a regular basis during the impacted time. Either at the customer’s site or from a remote location, you will be responsible for resolution of moderately complex performance problems related to the applicable technology area during go live, recommended best practices, and use and repair/workarounds for Oracle products. You should be highly experienced in some Oracle products and several platforms that are being supported. You will be expected to work with only general guidance from management while advising management on progress/status.
Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. Because of substantial customer interfacing, a demonstrated ability to work with customers on an independent basis with exceptional communication skills, while consistently achieving the highest levels of customer satisfaction is essential. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience is preferred with 10 years related experience. Experience with Oracle’s core products, applications, and tools is important.

Minimum 10 Years’ experience as Oracle database performance engineer/DBA – Very thorough and clear understanding of Oracle Database Architecture – including the latest version of Oracle and Databases on cloud.
Extensive knowledge of key factors impacting performance of Oracle database.
Must have worked with customers in an advisory role helping them implement best practices during migrations or upgrades.
Extensive knowledge and solid troubleshooting experience in the following areas RAC, ASM, Exadata, Performance tuning (AWR, SQL Monitor, OEM), Data Guard (Physical and Logical) including active dataguard and DG broker, RMAN – Experience in handling complex installation/patching, database recovery scenarios is desired
Experience in Exadata or Exadata Cloud Service is a must. Knowledge on Exadata cloud at customer is desired
Experience with tunning Oracle’s Packaged Apps databases (EBS, JDE, Peoplesoft) would be added plus.
Added skills with Oracle Golden Gate and tuning would be excellent.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work with customer during pre-go live or post go-live scenarios involving.
Quick thinking and remaining calm during stressful situations. – Willingness to work based on customer situation and take ownership for resolve performance issue.
Reach out to other supporting teams as needed.
Ability to quickly grasp complex technical issues. – Appetite to learn new technologies and constantly improve technical skills.
Provide guidance to customers for designing, implementing, and supporting performance testing systems and strategies
