Job Description

Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will perform high-level design based on provided external specifications. Specify, design and implement minor changes to existing software architecture. Build highly complex enhancements and resolve complex bugs. Build and execute unit tests and unit plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering as necessary to discuss minor changes to product functionality and to ensure quality and consistency across specific products.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

Key responsibilities include:

• Translate user business requirements into technical design documentations with the ability to keep an eye on the bigger picture

• Coding and hands on product development to build new modules and product features from the bottom up

• Drive the adoption of best practices around coding, design, quality, performance in the team

• Provide verbal and written communications regarding product development, backlogs, sprint cycles, and demos

• Partner with program leaders and stakeholders to define and operationalize KPIs

• Peer review of fellow programmer’s code

Required Skills & Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related field with at least 5 years of work experience working with distributed systems within large-scale environments

• Skilled in programming language such as Java, Javascript, HTML5, etc.

• Experience working with cloud native infrastructure and newer open source technologies such as Kafka, Kubernetes, web services, etc.

• Experience working with SQL queries, MySQL or Oracle database

• Experience with OO design principles, patterns and practices, micro-service architecture

Desired Skills & Qualifications

• Agile methodologies/Scrum experience

• Strong Data warehouse experience and good knowledge of Query optimization

• A broader set of technology skills at your disposal, such as Spring framework, XML, XSLT, Database/schema design, Unix/Linux development, etc.

• Exposure to compliance management or cloud security
