Job Description

Work with Oracle’s world class technology to develop, implement, and support Oracle’s global infrastructure.

As a member of the IT organization, assist with the analyze of existing complex programs and formulate logic for new complex internal systems. Prepare flowcharting, perform coding, and test/debug programs. Develop conversion and system implementation plans. Recommend changes to development, maintenance, and system standards.

Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. BS or equivalent experience in programming on enterprise or department servers or systems.

Oracle Managed Cloud Services is seeking a Technical Engineer who will complement highly motivated, highly skilled individuals supporting Engineered Systems. The unifying characteristics of the position are a well-grounded, hands-on understanding of Engineered systems and VMWare administration on Cloud , an eagerness to learn quickly, and apply new technologies and services. Ideal candidates thrive on variety and innovation in their daily work, on interaction with customers who are world-renowned leaders in their fields, and working with a wide range of technologies (open-source and vendor-supported) in a decentralized non-standard environment.

Responsibilities include :

• VMWare administration:

• Deep technical skills and hands-on experience with VMware technologies such as vSphere ESXi, vCenter, NSX-T, HCX, and vSAN .

• Deep technical skills and hands-on experience with Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC).

• Deep understanding of High Availability and Disaster Recovery using VMware technologies.

• Deep understating and hands-on experience with Automation and Orchestration using v-Realize suite.

• Implementation and Run-n-Maintain services including :

• Periodic patching of supported infrastructure (Exadata/Exalogic/PCA/ZFS/ZDLRA etc)

• Security Vulnerability fixes

• VM builds / decommissions

• Filesystem / Backup / Printer management

• SOX Audits

• Others

• Work on high volume mission critical systems

• Day to day Incident / Problem / Release / Escalations Management

Qualifications:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a technology field, Masters preferred, or equivalent experience required. Must have at least 5 years professional experience as VMWare with Windows & Linux System Administration.

In addition :

OCI certification is an advantage

Proven experience in managing enterprise systems

Experience with virtualization technology and cloud computing is advantage

Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and meeting evolving requirements

Good written and verbal communication skills

Ability to learn new technologies quickly
