Job Description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

As a member of the Database Engineering division, you will take an active role in the evolution and execution of standard practices and procedures for managing a massive and growing fleet of databases. The database fleet size is cloud-scaled and we leverage all the latest Oracle technologies to help enable high availability, durability, and performance/resource management. Common tasks

• Regular OS and Database patching, with minimal downtime
• Monitor and maintain system health and performance
• Creation and deletion of database instances for our internal customers/services
• Provide technical support and assistance to problem escalations
• Database upgrades

Qualifications: All successful candidates will have hands-on professional experience as an Oracle Database Administrator. We’re an Oracle 12c shop and this expects candidates to be versed in those specific technologies if not hands-on.

• BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area
• 5 to 9 years of professional experience administering Oracle Databases
• Experience using Oracle Data Guard / Fast-Start Failover
• Knowledge or experience with Oracle Multitenant (CDB/PDB)
• Knowledge or experience with Oracle GoldenGate

Work with a world-class team to provide enterprise-wide, Oracle Database Administration support for production systems and provide DBA services to application development teams, including database design, database generation, coding, and database production support. Provide DBA support with a high degree of customer service, technical expertise, and timeliness. Provide accurate and creative solutions to user problems of moderate nature to ensure user productivity.

Provide Development and/or Production support. This includes creating primary database storage structures, designing and creating primary objects, modifying database structure as necessary for enhancements or performance, creating documentation, designing interfaces, database objects, and creating plans. Monitor and optimize the performance of the database, plan for backup and recovery of the database, and allocate system storage and plan future storage needs. Create database-related scripts and programs to support development and production environments. Research, evaluate, design, test, recommend, and plan implementation of new or improved RDBMS, ETL and database tools.

Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have a project lead role. 5 years of experience supporting relational databases as a DBA, with multiple distributed relational DBSM’s or a depth and focus in Oracle and related tools. Exposure and practice at using the DBMS to optimize the performance of large databases for enterprise use is preferred. Experience with an organization with a key 24 X 7 reliance on its database is desirable. BS or equivalent desired
