Orb Energy Looking For Sr. Engineer/Asst. Manager – Design & Engineering at Bengaluru, Karnataka, Full Time

Job Purpose

1.To prepare the electrical design, SLD and layout for Rooftop & Ground mounted PV Projects

2.To be responsible for selection of components, makes and specs of the various components used for Ground mounted PV Projects

3.To clarify all concerns of the installation teams and amend drawings to as built conditions

4.To work with procurement team to bring down the cost of components used

5.Ensure all drawings are meeting the Electrical Standards as per Government Policies

6.To ensure drawings have appropriate symbols used for various drawings by Electrical Board

7.To ensure appropriate up-keep of the Standards set by Electrical Board & Regulatory agencies

Principal Accountabilities

1.To make the electrical detailed design and drawings from scratch for each of the Ground mounted PV Projects (like Individual Projects and Solar Park concepts)

2.To make the design as per component availability and makes ( as per latest technology)

3.To prepare the initial electrical drawings, prepare installation/IFC drawings and finally as-built drawings, all within the set time frame

4.To visit & Inspect the site as and when required

5.Selection of components and makes should be based on Quality, Reliability and Cost considerations

6.To help in troubleshooting of electrical problems that may occur after installation

7.Carryout site feasibility study/visits to review/Prepare PV plant related Array layout, Cable routing layout etc.

8.Preparation of DBR, BOM, RFP & RFQ

9.Sizing/selection of PV module, SCB, Transformer, Inverter, MV/LV switchgear, Cable, Bus Bar/Duct, DG and HV Switchyard Equipment’s. i.e. 11/33/66/110kV.

10.Knowledge on 11/33/66/110kV Transmission line and Bay Extension Design and drawings with different state utilities. (like KPTCL, APSPDCL, TNEB etc.)

11.Optimizing the arrangements to calculate land requirements to achieve best PV plant design

12.Co-ordination with Civil & Mechanical team members for optimized design for MMS, Inverter station Equipment (I.e. Inverters, ICOG, IDT, Metering cubicles and other panels) foundations and required basic knowledge on civil and Mechanical designs/drawings.

13.Co-ordination with construction team for practical doubts/clarifications as per site condition and to be implemented as part of optimization in design.

14.Review & Approval of Manufacturers / Vendor / Subcontractors Techno-Commercial Offers, Drawings & Documentations related to the products and services

Experience / Qualifications Required

a. BE / Diploma in Electrical Engineering (E&C or Electrical – Must)

b. Good Consistent Job performance record

c. 4 to 6 years experience in the required field

d. Should be willing to travel within short notice

e. Thorough Knowledge of drawing Software like PV Syst, AutoCAD, & other Solar PV related software’s.

f. Should have knowledge of various symbols used in electrical drawings

g. Hands on experience in drawings meeting the standards (IS,BIS, CEA,NEC,IEC, IEEE and respective state utility authorities in India) of Electrical Board.
