About the role

The Senior Specialist – SHES provides senior level expertise in the execution of a continuous improvement process in the relevant SHES department at the Manufacturing Centre or Sub-Regional Area through the application of Orica’s SHES Management System in accordance with statutory requirements.

What you will be doing

Key Accountabilities Drives implementation and embedment of Orica SHES Department processes and programs; Verifies and ensures compliance with Orica’s Group standards and procedures, and implement corrective actions to address findings; Manages compliance with relevant regulatory requirements that are associated with day-to-day operations; Guides and coaches management on the interpretation of legislative requirements, and technical aspects of the department; Coaches and supports leaders to conduct and review investigations including identifying direct and root causes, and support identification and tracking of corrective actions. Maintains a professional and constructive working relationship between Manufacturing Centre or Sub-Regional Area and the regulator; Collaborates with other internal and external specialist for collaborating on best practise and the improvement agenda relevant to the position and its requirements; Drives the implementation and management of preventive and mitigating controls to manage SHES material risks
