At Pearson VUE we have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Content Developer to join us where it’ll be your job to create assessment content for computer-based tests across a wide range of subject areas. Your role with involve working closely with Clients, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other Pearson teams to create and review content and build high quality robust and reliable exams.

You will be confident in working with accuracy across multiple projects and always deliver to deadlines. We are interested in degree-qualified applicants with a variety of publishing or content developing experience, ideally using web-based or bespoke content management tools.

Key Responsibilities & Activities

Work with clients to define their content development requirements

Conduct meetings with clients and key stakeholders

Develop and deliver question-writing training materials

Set up client question banks and monitor the progress of questions through the content development workflow

Coordinate the process of building high-quality exams

Manage the overall content development process across multiple clients to ensure all exams are developed on time and within budget

Develop and maintain project plans and ensure key dates are successfully met

Keep clients, Programme Manager and the Content Development Manager informed as to the status of the project

Escalate risks to the Programme Manager and Content Development Manager

Ensure the creation of reliable test content

Source Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and create question-writing assignments

Train SMEs for question writing and review

Conduct writing and review sessions either virtually or in person

Manage SMEs via online meetings, phone, email and in person

Commission images, language translation and audio, if necessary

Check that the writers have provided all the required materials and references

Review content for adherence to house style and test specification

Work closely with the Editorial team to ensure that all questions and exams we develop are reviewed

Analyse reports and implement changes when required

Work closely with the measurement and wider Pearson VUE teams to build exams and create the documentation required to test them

Create robust processes

Develop and document procedures for test development processes

Identify process improvement opportunities

Perform other duties as assigned by the Content Development Manager

Essential Experience & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in natural sciences or mathematics or a related field

Experience in the development of assessments

Experience in delivering training

Experience in facilitating focus groups and/or stakeholder meetings

Concentration, accuracy and attention to detail

A methodical working style

The ability to work on several tasks at any one time

Tact and diplomacy

Self-motivation

IT skills, with experience of Microsoft Office products and technologies

Ability to work on own initiative

Proven outstanding level and knowledge of English language (written and oral)

Process improvement skills
