Job Title: Senior Advisor – Communications & Marketing

Key Responsibilities:

• Protect and enhance the reputation of Petrofac through responsive PR strategies and the creation of imaginative, impactful multi-channel communications and content for internal and external audiences.
• Drive delivery of a robust external relations service which protects and enhances the company’s reputation. Includes responsibility for emergency response preparedness and incident / business management team support
• Advise a broad range of stakeholders on external communications process in strict adherence with Petrofac’s disclosure obligations
• Translate our purpose, values and growth priorities into inspiring internal comms campaigns and materials that educate and engage our internal teams. Project managing this process from ideation, and messaging development, through to implementation
• Seek out and drive impactful storytelling, creating content that brings our priorities and growth story to life across our corporate publications and digital channels, including Petrofac’s intranet (The Hub), our company magazine (Petrofacts), weekly Round-Up newsletter, Petrofac.com and social media channels
• Supporting the business acquisition process, drive and support the development of content and collateral including case studies, bid material and BD tools
• Working in collaboration with the Digital Editor, champion the digitisation of internal and external communications to maximise content generation, dissemination and reach
• Drive planning and project management of Communications events, including fortnightly internal events, town halls and industry delegations
• Lead research, information gathering and support ongoing improvement strategies and adoption of best practices across the Communications and Marketing landscape
• Lead relationships with agencies and other third parties, championing consistency and compliant implementation of the Petrofac brand
• Build a strong network with colleagues across all businesses, functions and regions
• Ensure consistent processes are adopted across Media Relations efforts
• Day-to-day /project cost management and administration

• Problem Solving:
  • Strong appetite for industry knowledge and research, driving within the function a strong awareness of key market and industry themes– to increase thought leadership tactics and quality
  • Benchmarking of communications best practice, resulting in recommendations to design programmes and content that drive tangible improvement in employee engagement
  • Ability to drive Emergency Response preparedness, based on knowledge of the operational business and associated risk. Confidence to manage live reputational considerations and communications tactics in a fast-paced IMT/BST environment
  • Skilled in providing thoughtful counsel to senior stakeholders on a wide range of business topics, clearly articulating engagement, morale and reputational considerations

Essential Qualification & Skills:

• Communications, marketing, journalism / or project management qualification
• Solid, up-to-date awareness of energy industry themes and challenges
• Experience and robust understanding of the in-house communications environment, including live emergency response and crisis management expertise
• Understanding of publicly quoted environment, disclosure obligations and UK company listing requirements
• Media relations experience, and a strong up-to-date network of media/journalistic contacts
• A resilient self-starter with the ability to build strong networks across disparate groups of people (often virtually)
• Curious mindset and a strong appetite for finding and telling great stories across all media types
• Strong attention to detail with impeccable writing and editing skills  proven across a variety of formats and media
• Ability to draft engaging materials for different target groups
• Strong oral communication skills
• Highly tuned judgement when dealing with reputational risk, ability to spot potential challenges before they arise, and advise stakeholders / escalate accordingly
• Solid IT and digital communications skills – proficient in all Microsoft tools, social media, content management systems, data analytics
• Highly organised with exceptional project management skills, able to prioritise a varied and demanding workload in a fast-paced, high profile environment
• A keen interest in high quality design.
