Chief of Staff – Global MR R&D

In this role, you have the opportunity to:
Prepare and implement projects in multi-discipline areas in accordance with agreed conditions on specification, time, cost and staffing. Projects have an innovative character. Co-ordination between the sub-projects (or vendor managed projects for IT). Multi-site, complex project. Manages project budget > € 3M. Manages a project team of >15 team members. Coaching of team members
You are responsible for:

• Is responsible for formulating project plan, in consultation with R&D management and other parties concerned on base of the requirements
• Lead the Productivity initiative for MR R&D across the globe (BLR, Pune, Suzhou, Best, Latham)
• Spearheads lean implementation and drives the process of the continuous improvement by implementing Daily Management, KAIZEN, PRIDE for MR R&D initiatives
• Operational global support for R&D leader MR/DXR/OEM, for global organization >800 employees. Orchestration of transformations, communication and operations of R&D
• Is responsible to organize the resources to be used (quality, time, allocation, budget and information), helps the team to organize and specifies the quality standard in the processes
• Identifies the risks of the project (e.g. specs, costs, planning, etcetera) and develops scenarios to overcome these risks by defining corrective actions and driving the R&D internal projects to closure
• Gathers and integrates project performance and progress information
• Reports on the progress of the project to MR R&D LT with an agreed frequency on quality, status, time, and budget to LT and to the project members
• Ensures that there is an effective transfer and archiving of the project results and the associated knowledge
• Builds and maintains the project organization, helps the team to organize, chooses or coaches on the way of working and selects the adequate tools (tailors the approach to the specific project) and defines the interfaces with other functions, internal and external Philips
• Deploys process improvements, supports continuous improvement of teams and makes the project organization efficient and transparent, in line with departmental and project processes and compliance to corporate policies/rules/procedures
• Manages internal and external stakeholders

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

• Minimum of-B.S. Degree in Engineering: Software, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems or similar discipline
• Overall exp of 14+ yrs and minimum 5+ years of project/program management experience.
• Project Management experience in FDA regulated Medical Device product environments, experience in Super Conducting Magnets/MR Imaging systems is preferred.
• Hands on experience in implementing Lean practices – Daily Management, PRIDE, KAIZEN
• Well versed in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMP) project management processes: Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring/Controlling and Closing.
• PMP Certification or other Project management training/Certifications desired
• Strong technical and functional leadership, negotiation, relationship management, analytical and team management skills, with experience of working in highly matrix organization structure.
• Ability to work with people across hierarchical levels in the project execution as per stakeholder expectations.
