Position Description

Position Purpose

The role will be responsible for Cost accounting and control activities like product costing, Cost variance analysis, Yield ratio analysis, BOM review, budgeting, plant expenditure variance analysis etc. of Agri business vertical and share the pulse with the seniors through regular MIS & dashboards. The role will also be responsible for monthly closing and help take corrective actions where ever needed.

Strategic Responsibilities

• Work with Cross functional team to monitor, analyse and control internal costing systems (BOM), Product costing and processes for the Agri business in line with companies’ policies

Operational Responsibilities

• Understand the production flow and product costing system to compute, analyse and review the cost of product at each plant
• Analysing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost
• Support the plant team in Cost Audit and Compliance Report, as may be applicable, across the Company and interact with the Statutory, Internal and Cost Auditors.
• Control the Variations & BOM (Bill of Materials) of FGs and creation / collation of Monthly Production Report.
• Interact and challenge the Plant, Strategic Sourcing / Purchase and the Business Development functions on the costs and be self driven in suggesting ways and means to make the quote viable. Assist the plant in determining the cycle time and the production norms of labour and overhead absorption.

• Making estimates of new and proposed product costs
• Analyse and identify key areas of improvement and apply cost estimation techniques to drive cost reductions and aid operational processes and efficiency

• Assist in performing Impact analysis of various changes in biz against budget – like impact of new packaging or implementation of any new project or price change.
• Monitor the raw material consumption, input-output ratio and scrap generation to report any deviation from the norms.
• Support continuous improvement through Yield analysis, VA (Value analysis) /VE (Value engineering) techniques and processes, identifying inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities.
• Overseeing systems and audit trail of inventory cycle and accounting right from input to the FG such as physical count, cycle count, control over BOM, standard costing, valuation methods, rejection accounting etc. to ensure zero difference between book and physical stocks.
• Suggests ways and means to control and reduce fixed and variable costs.
• Play a pro-active role in the annual budgeting exercise.
• Assisting in Month end close of the General Ledger

MIS & Reporting

• Develop MIS related to Product Costing, expense at plant etc

• Analysing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.

• Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.

Monitor and present plan vs actual costing including yield ratios, Cost variance analysis

• Represent the Business in external forums and associations
• Participate in cross-functional meetings to address/support in queries, if any
