Position Description

Position Purpose

This position will support the GST Lead in the processing and operational delivery of all aspects of GST. This will involve calculation and processing of tax liability accurately, coordinating with the Finance team for payments, undertaking all statutory and regulatory compliances related to GST. The role will also ensure that all documentation related to GST compliance is maintained up to date.

Strategic Responsibilities

• Support the GST Lead with required data and calculation for undertaking effective tax planning and tax management.

Operational Responsibilities

Tax Processing & Documentation

• Support GST lead in undertaking all GST related tax processes and compliances.
• Reconciliation of monthly GST Liability with Sales/Supply.
• Reconciliation of monthly GST credit as per books and online return.
• Co-ordination with Vendors for GST credit mismatch.
• Timely remittances of the tax payments to avoid any interest or penalty.
• Online filing of GST returns.
• Lead monthly reconciliation and clearing of all GST accounts.
• Record keeping of statutory documents.
• Maintain all documents / certificates / receipts etc., related to GST compliance / payments in an up to date manner.

Compliance

• Keep track of timelines and due dates for tax reporting, filing of tax returns, tax forms and other tax compliances with regards to GST and undertake required compliance for the same.
• Support GST lead in getting information on any changes in Tax Legislations related to GST, analyse impact of such changes to the company’s tax position and provide inputs to the Lead.

Audits

• Prepare information and data required for the tax audits with relation to GST.
• Provide any additional information sought by the auditors from time to time and respond to routine queries.
• Coordinate and regularly liaison with GST consultants, Auditors and Tax authorities for completion of Audits / Assessments.
• Coordinate with the local Controls & Compliance team at respective Business / Plant / Zone for any information required by auditors in relation to GST.

Financial Responsibilities

• Support the GST lead in timely payment of tax liabilities and filing of returns to avoid any interest and penalties.
• Support GST Lead in tax planning and management to reduce tax liability where possible by law and statute.

Education Qualification

Graduation (Commerce)

Work Experience

Fresher/ 1-2 years’ experience with exposure in VAT/Excise/Service Tax
