Job Description

Key Responsibilities & Authorities

• • Responsible for calculation of forces, stresses, pressure and other factors in relation with design.

  • Analyze pipeline questionnaire, PID, site surveys and other information provided to finalize the design and configuration of pigs.
  • Perform mechanical design, engineering, documentations, and modeling duties for revisions to existing equipment, production of new equipment, design of Tools and Launcher- Receivers.
  • Model mechanical system designs in Solid Work and AutoCAD as required.
  • Prepare bill of materials for finished mechanical assemblies and all parts.
  • Assist in the preparation of finished as-built & as-installed versions of drawings.
  • Acquire or generate as necessary all technical product data sheets required to document drawings.
  • Compile drawings and documents as required providing complete mechanical submittal and Operation & Maintenance packages.
  • Generate supporting documents as required to support design.
  • Perform hand calculations to provide engineering analysis of stress, loads, and forces as it pertains to mechanical design.
  • Participate in internal engineering and design.
  • Provide technical support to Site engineers to complete all runs successfully.
  • Analysis run result of the gauge tool.
  • Participate in physical testing of equipment and coordinate expected and actual results analysis with fabrication and testing personnel.
  • Verification of client specifications.
  • Works in cooperation with the Production department, assisting in production startup and optimization work.
  • Monitors and controls tools fleet.
  • Ensures efficient utilization of tools & equipment
  • Assesses tool condition after run either directly by examining the tool or indirectly based on tool condition report received from Operations; submits tool condition reports to HO, requests spare parts if and as required.
  • Controls spare parts and maintains minimum stock quantity in the territory store.
  • Ensures tools and spare parts are stored in proper condition and in suitable environment.
  • Ensures Operations supplies all runs reports to keep record upto date.
  • Prepare list of tools, packing list and spares required for operation department.
  • Ensuring ILI/cleaning Tools are stored and kept ready in a proper manner, keep updated records about all spare parts available in territory store, and feed all info to TM. Keeps up to date records about spare parts of each tool.
  • To ensure tool is moving to site with total equipment needed for loading and retrieving the tool from launcher and receiver.
  • Upgrade tool fleet to latest type design/technologies.
  • Issue tool rent report.
  • Update tool history book.
  • Reviewing Sales enquiries from a tool capability point of view
  • Guide the tool preparation process for timely and correctly implementation of design, fabrication and assembly aspects
  • Respond instantly to field queries during execution of runs
  • To check each and every required item and make ready shipment on time
  • Carries out any other related Jobs as and when required by the HOD
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department.

• Monitor and control tools fleet in whole territory
• Control tool movement to any project
• Control over tool conditions
• Updates HOD immediately about any issue/requirement/necessity in the department.
• Maintains department tidy and implements daily housekeeping.

Skills/Experience:

• Bachelor of Engineering/Technology in Mechanical/Mechatronics.
• Min 2 years’ experience in related Mechanical Design field with 3D software (SOLIDWORK and AutoCAD software).
• Knowledge in detail designing and preparation of full set of drawings, Bill of Materials, Design Calculations, Validation and optimization according to process engineering.
• Knowledge in design of Pigging Tools, Pressure spools design & developments with analysis on CATIA or ANSYS are an additional advantage
• Exposure to Design-manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a tool and production related role, ideally in the Oil & Gas Industry
• Strong command of English, knowledge of other languages is plus
• Must be flexible with work hours & timings
