Job Description

Lead the design and Iteration of existing components and new upcoming devices.

Develop CAD with geometric dimension and tolerance stacking.

Create 2D drawings for high volume production.

Work in R&D simultaneously to test new prototypes.

Create DFMEA and identify relevant product risks.

Create EBOM, DFM/DFA for manufacturers.

Create design and test KPIs to be followed for each feature of the product

Decide and enforce project deliverables and timelines within mechanical and system engineering

Execute the assigned tasks/project scope within required KPI’s.

Perform required calculations for design verification

Develop sub-system designs and make component selections

Provide engineering support to sourcing / production teams

Lead system engineering between CFD, FEA, D&T, DMFEA, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineering

Lead a team of mechanical engineers and interns

Hire and grow mechanical engineering and manufacturing teams

Skill Requirements

3+ years of hands-on work experience with Autodesk Inventor/Fusion or similar softwares.

BS/MS in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering.

Proficiency with Mechanical industry codes/standards (e.g. ASME, ASTM, etc.)

Experience with CFD, FEA, DFMEA, Manufacturing and QA

Past experience with vendor management and development

Past experience with integration of electronic components

Past experience with product safety and compliance

Extremely strong engineering fundamentals

Excellent Communication Skills

Hands on prototyping/maker skills for hardware

Basic electronics and programming knowledge

Past experience leading a team of engineers

Programming experience in Python

Good to Have

Past experience working in automobile/defence/space engineering

Past Inter-collegiate team competitions experience ( Eg. BAJA-SAE, Formula Student)

Past experience working at a startup
