One Consulting – Climate & Energy (C&E) practice:

The One Consulting team within the Advisory line of business is looking for professionals with experience in power & utilities segment under the C&E practice.

The C&E practice assists clients in enabling energy transformation, designing policy and regulatory frameworks, reforming industry and market designs, transforming business models, enhancing revenues, optimising costs, managing capital-intensive programmes and in facilitating investments in energy markets.

Our in-depth industry knowledge is complemented by an extensive global network of over 17,000 people and a dedicated sector-focused practice with over 400 professionals to meet client needs in India.

Job Description:

The candidate would be part of the C&E practice of PwC India. The range of clients would include Govts., Public Utilities, Development Agencies, Private players, Regulators, FIs, etc.

Focus sector: The focus sector would be the Renewable Energy including solar, wind, hydro, PSP, storage, green H2, carbon capture & such decarbonization technologies and power and utilities sector including Generation, Transmission and Distribution sectors covering sector transformation, regulatory and commercial aspects.

The candidate will be required to primarily work with private sector clients, financial institutions, IDAs, large government organizations and support them in planning and implementation of various initiatives, DD, corporate strategy, market assessments, business process review, financial planning, support in raising funds from FIs, analysis of policy and regulations, regulatory support in filing petitions, preparation of business plan, etc.

A. Core requirements: The candidate would be required to work on assignments involving the following areas (the list is not exhaustive)

• Bid advisory support including financial models & commercial/financial risk analysis
• Commercial and market due diligence
• Formulation of business plans and strategy roadmaps
• Regulatory and policy design
• Transaction advisory – PPP transactions
• Feasibility assessments

B. Other requirements:

• Business development: Maintaining relationship with existing and prospective clients, generate leads and conversion, preparation of proposals and budgets. Existing relationships with investors, banks and corporate will be added advantage.
• The candidate would be required to manage multiple projects or work streams with multiple clients at any point of time

Experience level: 1-8 Years

Qualification:

• Chartered Accountant (CA)
• MTech
• B.Tech + MBA

Requirements:

• Prior consulting experience in Renewable Energy, Power & Utilities sector with other consulting firms
• The management or business development experience in companies operational in power generation, transmission or distribution.
• Should have excellent communication skills, problem solving skills and proficiency in using basic tools such as MS Office, Excel and Powerpoint.
• The role requires travel to client locations and provides opportunity to work directly with senior officials including C Suite executives, state/central Government bureaucrats and other senior executives. Therefore, the candidate should be self-disciplined and self-motivated as he/she would be required to display the ability to innovate, create lasting relationships and work independently with little supervision.
• Should also have the ability of leading workstreams, manage small teams and manage client expectations.
