The IT Software Asset Management Team is responsible for managing and maintaining the lifecycle of licensed software for Qualcomm employees. Functions of the role include the following, but responsibilities may change as the business requires:
Facilitate the business’ needs for ongoing software support and upgrade on selected products by ensuring that maintenance, support and upgrade protection are managed in advance of their expirationMaintain Qualcomm-owned software assets in Service Now (SN) toolFulfill requests for standard catalog software requested via the Service Now ticketing systemCentralize asset information: Create, update, issue and reclaim software licenses to end users via the Service Now asset tracking systemEngage directly with software vendors to acquire quotes for new software purchases, upgrades, maintenance renewals and license usage questions/clarificationValidate and fulfill requests for non-standard software requested via the Service Now ticketing systemDistribute software + Entitle software licenses based on established contracts and license usage rulesSupport Qualcomm Global needs from centralized SWAM Team and assist in 24/5 shiftsAssist licensed users in getting their software installed onto their new machinesProblem solve and troubleshoot software related issues and arrange support from publishersPerform required steps to process large maintenance for volume licensesSupport license management for acquisition and divestiture eventsDistribute software + Entitle software licenses based on established contracts and license usage rulesRequires EULA review and interpretation for non-standard software requests to ensure complianceEnsure to meet company compliance standard for each new, transfer, reassign, re-install software requestAnswer questions and assist with escalation issues via phone from Tier 1 support help deskProcess escalations and questions from Tier 1 support via Incident ticket in Service NowMeet internally imposed SLAs and deadlinesRecognize opportunities for improvement, correctly identify and rank the urgency of issues/requests, accept ownership of problems and take appropriate and effective steps to remedyTroubleshoot, correct or escalate issues resulting from automated processCreate Software Usage reports for effective license usage status and work on to avoid compliance issuesResponsible for managing and maintaining the lifecycle of licensed software.Assist and Participate in software publisher auditsCompany term large renewals to close within the timelines from Source to till PayControl software compliance and work to be compliant with the license usage termsProcessing invoices for payment process and coordinating with accounts team till payment releaseParticipate in SWAM projects and support other service groups.
Min Qualification
‘• Strong Excel spreadsheets skills, database management, and word processing applications.
Possess excellent interpersonal, time-management, verbal/written communication, and organization skills.Accountable and responsible with ability to function effectively while operating independently as well as within a team environmentExperience with software licensing, compliance, audit and asset managementWorking knowledge Service Now Request or Asset Management systems is desirableAbility to operate independently, efficiently and professionally in a fast paced environment.Ability to multi-task, easily adapt to change and be detail oriented Preferred QualificationsSoftware Asset tracking experience + Software license compliance experience
Education:
1. Any Bachelor’s Degree (Business Administration preferred) or comparable (3-5 years) related work experience
2. Software Asset Management related training OR certification is preferred
