Roles & Responsibilities:

• Should Costing of industrial commodities primarily Mechanical e.g. pumps, Blowers, fabricated structures, Skids, Pipes, enclosures/sheet metal framed containers

• Work with customer technical & sourcing teams & coordinate to propose/achieve cost savings

• Participate in project activities, provide technical solutions in line with product cost reduction opportunity.

• Develop should cost models envisaging optimum manufacturing methods/ processes in a production environment, present cost reports to stakeholders & participate in negotiations.

• Must have Good knowledge of component Design, Development and production phases.

• Experience working in Sheet metal/fabrication shop, Manufacturing engineering, Costing and shop floor exposure.

• Good Working knowledge of Excel based costing.

• Hands-on experience with working for should-costing using aPriori

• Knowledge of product manufacturing [Casting, Machining, Molding, Powder metallurgy, Rapid Prototyping, Heat treatment, Surface coating, Painting, Welding, etc.]

• Expert knowledge /domain expertise in welding, fabrication, weldments/welded joints, stamping, forming, assembly, transportation, packaging and

• Break-down and tear down analysis of the fabrication process and in arriving at the cost of the assembly and sub-assemblies

• Experience in Teardown activities

• Add value to customer in should cost analysis and realising cost reduction opportunities

• Develop project schedule, plan deliverables, coordinate with various engagements/team and manage work packages.

Required Skills (Technical Competency):

• Strong knowledge in various fabrication methods and techniques like welding, riveting etc and assembly processes of sheet metal parts

• Good knowledge on various Industrial products, manufacturing processes including specials process, tools required to produce parts

• Fully conversant in reading and understanding Engineering & Manufacturing Drawings

• Sound knowledge interpreting the GD&T (standards ASME Y 14.5 )and special processes

• Sound knowledge in costing methodology and able to develop bottom up costing breaking down to maximum possible detail.

• Hands on experience in calculating process cycle time and develop process activity rate database.

• Able to substantiate cost savings and negotiate supplier with facts and figures

• Hands on experience of working in CFTs to propose and implement design and manufacturing process improvements to reduce product cost
