About the Role
The Administrative Editor (AE) Team Lead is responsible for managing and growing an AE team based in Chennai, as well as taking care of the daily management of 1 or 2 journals. The team consists of approximately 6 FTE and is expected to grow in the coming years.
Primary responsibilities involve recruitment and management of a team of AE specialists in our Chennai office, work closely with other AE teams based in Oxford and Amsterdam, to ensure smooth editorial end-to-end publication processes. Through excellent communications internally and externally to deliver positive contribution to overall team performance and process improvements. A publishing background is preferred, and people management experience is strongly preferred for the role as well.
Day-to-day managerial responsibilities include:
Manage, recruit, and develop a team of AE in Chennai
Drive continuously improvements in overall team performance and lead the team in delivering the team goals: setting up an efficient management approach/workflow; provide timely and effective guidance to members and keep excellent communications to all stakeholders
Support CPS director for strategic pilots and ad hoc tasks
Day-to-day AE responsibilities include:Delivering editorial administration services to editors, authors and reviewers to ensure journal needs and service level agreements are metManaging the editorial, submission and review process efficiently to reduce the lead-time from submission to approvalGenerating journal and ad-hoc reports for editors and publishers for board meetings and strategic planningIdentifying and implementing changes to workflow and configuration to optimize the performance of journals, release initiatives and publishing policiesProviding support and troubleshooting advice to editors, reviewers, authors and teams for our submission systemCommunicating with our journal community, publishers and cross-functional teams to provide updates and advice for submission and publication queries
