Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: This position is for a Contributor System Engineer supporting the different environments where Sabre hosts its solutions, with a very strong focus on the Cloud, and specifically the design and execution of the migration of applications from physical data centers to different Cloud environments. The candidate needs excellent communication skills and needs to be able and partner with counterparts from Development and Operations in the context of the different projects. The responsibilities of the engineering team are listed below. This position would require supporting Systems & DevOps technologies, approaches, and platforms required by our development and deployment processes. Candidate would also be knowledgeable of the latest software development, automation, and deployment practices. Candidate should possess knowledge of system infrastructure management products and tools with experience to include advanced knowledge of emerging technologies, application design, and distributed systems monitoring.

In general, these are the different types of projects where the candidate will be involved:

• Cloud Solutioning – Design and implementation of different products or components in the cloud. These could be related to migrations out of a legacy data center, or first time installs. The team is involved with the technical aspects of the migration on different levels, depending on the product team exposure to the new technology, and project complexity.

Below are some of the responsibilities of the engineer in the solutioning process: o Work with the Dev teams to obtain high level landing zone requirements
o Design solution for application in the cloud, in accordance with Sabre’s standards and best practices
o Help design the cutover / migration strategy, reducing risk and operational impact
o Build / help build the solution documentation
o Write terraform scipting
o Consult on cloud access and accounts, architecture, network and monitoring capabilities
o Collaborate with the application teams on the creation and review of operational documentation, and help them obtain signoff from OCC
o Investigate and help resolve cloud related events, incidents and problems after cutover

Job Requirements

Qualifications Experience working in different type of cloud environments like GCP and AWS.
5+ years of operational experience (engineering, development technical lead with on-call duties, operations)
5+ years experience with developing and deploying solution proof of concepts and capability demonstrations
5+ years experience of System Administration or development responsibilities
Experience supporting uniquely developed systems in a hosted environment
Scripting language such as ruby, bash, PHP, python
Production data center experience: firewalls, load balancers (F5), etc.
Experience analyzing performance/load testing and security issues
Experience deploying and / or operating middleware solutions
Knowledge of security technologies and techniques
Knowledge of orchestration technologies and techniques
Knowledge of system management technologies and techniques
Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Experience in UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems.
