Position : Accountant

Location : Delhi

Since 1988, Salaam Baalak Trust has been working for street and working children. We have 7 shelter homes, 10 contact points and 3 Childlines through which we reach out to 10,000 children every year. Through our programs, we provide education, food, medical, psychological and holistic development services to the children. Our vision is to provide a platform, a safe and secure space where every child can blossom to his/her full potential

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
– Responsibilities for Accountant

• Update accounts receivable and issue invoices
• Act as backup accounts payable
• Reconcile ledgers monthly and quarterly
• Month-end and year-end closing
• Work under the supervision of a Senior Accountant
• Assist in completing audits
• Generate reports of financial status information
• Calculate payroll taxes

Qualification and Experience:

• 2+ years of experience in NGO
• Ability to sit in front of a computer looking at a computer screen for long periods of time
• Proficiency with a computer
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and various accounting software programs
• Familiarity with accounting software programs
• Keen attention to detail
• Excellent problem-solving
• Able to maintain confidentiality
