Job Description:

Samvedna Development Society is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to fill the position of Zonal In-Charge for waste management activities in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. As the Zonal In-Charge, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating waste management initiatives within the designated zone, with the primary objective of eliminating open waste dumping points. Reporting directly to the Area Municipal Corporation (AMC), you will play a crucial role in implementing sustainable waste management practices and promoting environmental conservation.

Responsibilities:

1. Supervise and manage waste management activities within the assigned zone, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines.
2. Develop and implement strategies to eliminate open waste dumping points, including identifying alternative disposal methods and promoting waste segregation at the source.
3. Coordinate with local authorities, community stakeholders, and other relevant organizations to streamline waste collection, transportation, and disposal processes.
4. Conduct regular inspections and assessments of waste management infrastructure and facilities to identify areas for improvement and ensure optimal functionality.
5. Collaborate with the AMC and other stakeholders to raise awareness about the importance of proper waste management practices and encourage community participation in waste reduction efforts.
6. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of waste management initiatives, preparing reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.
7. Manage a team of waste management personnel, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and productivity.
8. Liaise with government agencies, NGOs, and other partners to explore funding opportunities and support the implementation of innovative waste management projects.
9. Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in waste management, incorporating relevant advancements into the organization’s strategies and operations.
10. Uphold the organization’s values of sustainability, inclusivity, and social responsibility in all aspects of work.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
2. At least 3-5 years of experience in waste management, environmental conservation, or a related field, with demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
3. Strong understanding of waste management principles, policies, and regulations, particularly in the context of urban areas.
4. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
5. Proven ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work activities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
6. Proficiency in computer applications and software relevant to waste management and data analysis.
7. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach to challenges.
8. Fluency in both English and Hindi, with proficiency in additional local languages preferred,.
9. Willingness to travel within the designated zone and work flexible hours as needed.
