Summary SAP Business Technology Platform, ABAP Environment is SAP’s new Platform as a Service (PaaS) offering for ABAP. Since many years, ABAP has been the foundation for SAP’s on-premise solutions. ABAP in SAP Business Technology Platform is based on the latest ABAP Platform Cloud release which is also used for SAP S/4HANA Cloud. It leverages the multitenant database container technology of SAP HANA. The software stack contains standard technology components familiar from the standalone ABAP application server. It supports the new RESTful programming model including SAP Fiori and Core Data Services (CDS). SAP Services and APIs are offered according to the new released API approach.
Role

• As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cutting-edge deployment and automation of cloud resources.
• The ideal candidate for DevOps Engineer is a technical generalist who tends toward solutions involving development and automation.
• Their skills range from software development to hardware configuration, network design and production automation.
• Additionally, as an integral part of the ABAP Core development team, you’ll be contributing to the advancement of core infrastructure, services and tools related to the technology stack.
• Be the first line of defense for the development team analyzing the outages, driving the RCAs and subsequently bringing the required product enhancements from the RCAs
• Maintain a highly available, reliable production service and participate in on-call rotation
• Automate integration scenarios for the cloud service to be able to validate the consumption scenario of a service
• Create software and processes to automate and improve the maintainability of cloud systems using proven DevOps tools
• Work with development teams to integrate with external systems to close the loop on a fully automated dev-to-production release cycle
• Design, build, manage, maintain, and scale SAP Business Technology Platform core data center infrastructure on need basis
• Support the team during weekend / public holidays during upgrade / patch process as part of Developer’s call on duty.

Role Requirements

• 3 – 7 years of relevant experience as Devops Engineer.
• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology, majoring in Computer Science, from a reputed institute, with excellent academic records.
• Strong system programing skills – Java or NodeJS or Golang and Scripting Languages like (shell, Python, Go, Chef, Ruby etc.)
• Good UI programming skills with Angular JS, Object Oriented JavaScript, CSS, HTML, SAP UI5
• Good understanding on PaaS platform such as Cloud Foundry
• Good understanding on CaaS such as Docker, Kubernetes
• Good understanding on IaaS such as AWS & Open stack
• Working experience of using Jenkins, Concourse or other CI/CD Tools, Git/SVN etc, Monitoring tools (Grafana), Logging tools (ELK)
• Added knowledge of handling Big Data(Kafka, Hadoop, HBase, Spark, Cassandra) and Messaging (RabbitMQ) is desirable skills

• Experience managing production Linux systems, networking, and complex distributed systems Strong system design and analytical skills are a must.
• Experience managing / configuring large fleets of hardware or to manage distributed software systems.
• Experience deploying infrastructure with configuration management tools, especially C include Chef, Puppet, Salt.
• Experience managing software for enterprise/carrier-class routers and switches, deploying and operating a large enterprise or cloud network
• Experience deploying infrastructure components. Example technologies include Graphite, Sensu, Cobbler, rsyslog, logstash
• Proficient in Unix/Linux tools and systems
• Strong experience developing and configuring complex network and distributed systems
• Experience automating the testing and troubleshooting of distributed systems
• Experience managing container based services in production using tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Mesos is a plus.
