Job Description
The DBA role will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, security, and performance of critical RDBMS systems to ensure the availability and consistent performance of our corporate applications. This is a hands-on position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent leadership/interpersonal and communication skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the sustainment of multiple database environments (MSSQL, SAP HANA), ensuring its operational readiness (security, tuning, develop, health and performance), executing data tasks, and performing data modeling in support of multiple development teams. Must be capable of working independently and collaboratively within a global team.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
Provide support for critical production systems.
Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities during normal working and after hours.
Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
Qualifications:
Must have:
5 years MS SQL Server Administration, installation and troubleshooting (version 2016 to 2019 and Azure as a plus) experience required.
3 years SAP HANA Server Administration, installation and troubleshooting (version 2.0 onwards) experience required.
Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Experience with Agile methodology and tools like JIRA.
Relational Database programming concepts (automated Scripts and batch processes)
Experience with backups, restores and recovery models within MSSQL and SAP HANA RDBMS.
Strong SQL Query skills within MSSQL and HANA (via HDBSQL)
High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server (Always on) and HANA (HANA Real time data replication)
Strong data security experience for both MSSQL and HANA.
Proven experience on data encryption protocols (SSL and TLS protocols) for MSSQL and HANA RDBMS.
MSSQL and SAP HANA Installation, Administration, and Data modeling.
Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to work with a global team
Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams
High attention to detail and adherence to established processes
Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge to adapt and learn quickly in a changing environment
Desire to succeed, grow skill sets, and a positive attitude
Experience with code review tools (Perforce and Crucible preferred).
Nice to have:
Administration and configuration over reporting services, integration services and analysis services for SQL Server version 2016 to 2019.
HANA Administration utilizing HANA Studio, HANA Cockpit and Linux command line.
Familiarity of GDPR requirements and tools (Idera SQL Compliance Manager preferred)
Strong Linux skills and shell scripting experience.
