Deputy General Manager – Safety & Health

Principal activities

− Implement guidelines and programs defined at Global level related with behavioural and mindset of employees as a fundamental part of the prevention strategy.

− Plan and implement the Prevention of Labour Risks defining structures, functions, procedures, and documentation and ensure the necessary resources are in place.

− Define the Annual Risk Prevention Plan, initiate improvement actions.

− Advise KG management regarding the actions necessary to integrate and implement the Prevention Plan throughout the organization in line with the appropriate legislation on Safety and Health matters.

− Manage safety and health preparedness of the KG including preparedness for emergency situations.

− Conduct accident and near-miss investigations.

− Analyse accident statistics and propose improvement actions to KG management, including awareness, behaviour, continuous communication, and training.

− Design, consolidate, and distribute specific information coming from unsafe events, accident information, safety alerts or other, as a learning tool through specific and regular communications.

− Identification and definition of relevant employee safety trainings (in addition to Global guidance) as well as training planning and delivery in close collaboration with HR and Technical Training & Information.

− Define documentation requirements and safety conditions to fulfill during the subcontracting process.

− Plan and conduct internal and external management system audits, in coordination with other functions, to confirm process adherence and develop closing actions with the branch on any deviations identified.

Provide the structure and guidance on compliance to GS processes, local laws, norms, and standards pertaining to work site safety to ensure Schindler employees and subcontractors are aware of risks and their preventative measures.

Overall description

Hold overall responsibility for employee safety processes and training within the KG and for implementation of related initiatives (both KG specific and globally initiated). Evaluate the risks associated with the working activities and provide prevention plans of said risks through the creation and implementation of the Annual Risk Prevention Plan for all activities and levels of the organization.
