About our group:

The group is part of Seagate’s VLSI Organization spread globally across multiple sites. Seagate designs world class controller SoCs for their HDDs. The group in Pune participates in design, verification, physical design and post-silicon validation activities of these complex SoCs. This group has some of the best talent from the industry and has taped out many controller chips.

About the role – you will:

• Participate in SoC post-silicon validation activities on HDD controllers via
  • Be involved in Firmware development/enhancements for silicon validation and characterization.
  • Validate test plan development for specific IP’s Code and test plan review of the peers.
  • Board/SoC Bring up participation, test plan execution and result logging.
  • Work with cross functional team during debug.
  • Collect debug data using standard tools like protocol analyzers, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes.

About you:

• Good communication skills – written and oral.
• Quick learner in adapting new technologies.

Your experience includes:

• Proven expertise in firmware development for ssCPU architectures like ARM, RISC V, various microcontrollers using C/C++/Assembly.
• Good understanding of one or more industry-standard interfaces (DDR, NAND, SAS, SATA, PCIE, other high speed serial interfaces).
• Working experience with tools like logic analyzer and protocol analyzers.
• Experience in debugging silicon issues by closely working with hardware designers (SoC or IP).
• Experience in FPGA emulation testing/VCS simulation testing will be an added advantage.
• Working understanding of host drivers (Linux/Windows) will be a plus.
• VLSI engineering cycle/ chip tape-out flow.
