Supervisor Functional Safety Team

General Responsibilities

• Supervises inter-disciplinary teams to address complex product design and manufacturing challenges

• Provides technical advice, serves as a point of contact to customers

• Supervises a team of individual contributors, setting clear goals

• Able to identify new sockets for products (i.e. new applications)

• Arranges a team to define and write the specifications for new and different products/components

• Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs

• Coordinates development testing, engineering analysis, qualification testing, production launch

• Supervises activities related to product documentation (drawings and specifications) and lessons

• Analog and digital circuit design experience from the circuit board to transistor level

• Familiarity with manufacturing methods welding, brazing, soldering, adhesive bonding, machining, stamping, molding and forming. Basic knowledge of a core manufacturing processes (Calibration, Final Function Transfer, leak testing, welding/soldering, adhesive and gel dispensing)

Experience / Qualifications

• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.

• Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members

• Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

Role: SUPERVISOR FUNCTIONAL SAFETY ENGINEERING

• Supervise a team of Functional Safety engineers. Manage their loading, training, and development. Help effectively prevent and/or resolve internal and external escalations.

• Ensure that Functional Safety activities are performed according to Sensata Technologies standards and in compliance with ISO 26262, through effective management of the Functional Safety Team.

• Help create a Center of excellence for Functional Safety Engineering. Support the definition of technology roadmaps from the Functional Safety point of view, including the provision of the necessary resources to implement the strategies. Be the subject-matter expert of Functional Safety for technical discussions internally and with suppliers, customers, and assessors Play a role to launch this for Sensata Globally working to align this with a global team of experts.

• Continuously look for new opportunities to increase the internal quality in the Functional Safety activities, over the short, medium, and long term
