The PMO Analyst partners with Project/Program Manager, Information Digital and Technology Manager, Product Manager and several other stakeholders for the successful delivery of their products, projects , programs and portfolio adhering to Product / Project Delivery Framework (PDF) and Shell ways of working.
In a typical Product, Project / Program, the activities of the PMO are centralized around budget management including cost trend analysis, supporting the strategic requirements of product, project and program by implementing the Product & Project delivery framework, best practices, tools throughout the product, project and program life cycle.
Understand the Product / Project Delivery Framework (PDF) and how to apply both Waterfall and Agile project delivery methodologies within the framework.
Understand the key elements required to set up a product, project / program and work closely with stakeholders to ensure smooth set up.
Ensure PDF compliance through setting up appropriate repositories and data entries, maintaining quality data, and making sure that the required artifacts are created, reviewed and approved.
Work with product, project and program managers to build and maintain plans, schedules, and resource allocation throughout the life cycle product, project and program life cycle.
Produce insightful reports and ensure that status reporting is fit for purpose, complete, timely, accurate, and communicated effectively.
Capture risk based on the inputs from PM’s, monitors and track risks and issues.
Understand the delivery assurance framework, implement and examine documentation/data for completeness and accuracy.
Effectively use tools like Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, MS Project on need basis, Service Now and Power BI’s) and required templates to create and manage project deliverables.
In a Portfolio the PMO activities are centralized around Products, Projects and Programs under that portfolio. This includes the budget management including cost trend analysis, overview of products, projects / programs change management, reporting and quality assurance of the overall portfolio in alignment to Shell IT Engineering PPM ways of working.
Produce required portfolio reports and ensure that status reporting including finance that is fit for purpose, complete, timely, accurate, and communicated effectively.
Examine documentation/data for completeness and accuracy for their respective portfolio’s.
Implement the Standard PMO ways of working and toolset which is fit for purpose at a portfolio level for all products, projects / programs. Ensures effective usage of the toolset and that adequate processes, assurance, reporting, communication, data, etc. are in place.
Proactively ensure Delivery Assurance Framework and compliance are in place for their respective assigned portfolio’s.
Coordinate mandatory reviews and audits on schedule and according to procedure. Track resultant recommendations and actions necessary to address shortcomings.
Advance IT discipline in PDF adoption through coaching others in its effective application. Support PM’s and PMO staff to develop the critical skills and characteristics required for success in contingency, cost, resource, schedule, and risk management.
Drive contingency management and proactively control costs and schedule through understanding and monitoring and managing resources, risks and issues in their respective portfolio.
Develop and drive standard processes for cost/resource/schedule/risk management across large programme(s) and/or portfolio(s).
Impart knowledge to PMO Analysts on their respective portfolios, quality assurance and overall delivery and aligned the Portfolio ways of working

Develop an understanding of complex IT landscapes with diverse technologies supporting end to end business processes in the Oil & Gas industry.

Contribute to Organisational initiatives, PMO Standardization of activities across Projects and Programs

Skills & Requirements:
Support product / project alignment with and adherence to Shell standard product / project delivery methodologies (e.g. PDF).
Good understanding and experience of the various methodologies (E.g. Waterfall and Agile)
Experience working with Agile teams as a core/extended team member is desirable
Agile certifications/trainings preferred
Attention to data quality
Highly organized, possessing strong analytical abilities.
Experience in project / program management tools.
Familiar with critical path analysis and portfolio dependencies from an administrative perspective.
Experience in managing project financials and reconciliation.
Proficient in MS-Office tools
Understand estimation and contingency management techniques and best practices.

Typical Experience: 7+ Years in IT Project delivery experience
Relevant Experience : 5+ Years of PMO Experience
Minimum Education or Certification: Any Graduation
Typical Job Grade of Supervisor/Manager: JG3 or higher
