Your profile

You should be an experienced (5+) IT professional with your graduation in Engineering or other equivalent qualification (MCA). To ensure success in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of SQL server setup, deployment, and maintenance, you must have good SQL administration knowledge, application support experience would be an added advantage. Should have exposure with Windows, Scripting skills (PowerShell/Batch, SQL). You must possess excellent problem-solving skills, good communication and analytical skills.

Working knowledge on following topics is a must:
Extensive experience in SQL Server Administration for servers 2012/2016/2019.
Strong working knowledge on T-SQL, PowerShell or any scripting language.
Strong knowledge in SSRS.
Expertise in Database Administration on Production Servers with server configuration, performance tuning and maintenance with outstanding troubleshooting capabilities.
Experience in Batch processes, Import, Export, Backup, Database Monitoring tools and Application support.
Handled responsibilities of creating databases, logins, assigning permissions, SQL jobs, SQL maintain plans.
Performance tuning of the Client Queries and optimization of the same. When performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes.
Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
Design database backup and restoration strategies.
Database Architecture designing from scratch for Clients keeping in account the high volume of data coming in along with Capacity Planning.

Good to have skills

Good SQL Development knowledge needed for code optimization, fixing code issues, Creating SP, Functions, Views etc. & other database objects.
Good understanding of SQL logics including joins, table variables, cursors, SQL clauses, aggregate functions etc. needed to write code level changes in Production level environment.
Good SSRS (SQL server Reporting services) knowledge which includes administration of Reports, basic development of Reports, troubleshooting issues, modification of Reports if the logic of the code changes.

Your responsibilities

Task for the administrator is Monitoring of CPU, memory, and disk usage of servers, checking of log files, to recognize issues as early as possible.
Work with application development staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures.
Install and configure relevant network components to ensure database access as well as database consistency and integrity.
Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues.
Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
Monitor, optimize and allocate physical data storage for database systems.
Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems.
Plan and implement capacity and resource expansion to ensure scalability of company databases.
Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to databases.
Create, or support creation of, required reports in response to business user needs.
Perform database transaction and security audits.
Establish appropriate end-user database access control levels.
Develop routines for end users to facilitate best practices database use.
