SRM University AP Hiring for PhD Research Scholar at Guntūr Full Time

Applications are invited from interested candidates for the position of PhD Scholar in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, SRM University, Andhra Pradesh. We are looking for candidates, who are interested in working with either Renewable Energy Systems (Ex: Solar thermal) or Thermal Management of Electronic Components. The experimental facility is available in the faculty’s research lab. Looking for a self-motivated, passionate candidate who has an interest to work in these areas.

Brief description of the work:

Solar thermal systems: (Deals with Macroscale Heat Transfer)

• The research group is actively working in the field of design and development of effective CPVT systems.
• The research group is working on developing solar based cooling and storage systems of large capacity. (Ex: converting a big capacity grid powered cold storage to a solar powered cold storage).
• Any other novel and innovative ideas in the field of Renewable Energy are welcome.

Thermal Management of Electronic Components: (Deals with Microscale Heat Transfer)

• The research group is actively working in the field of design and development of an effective cooling system to address the cooling challenges of electronic components.
• The faculty member is having an active DST funded project.
• Any other novel and innovative ideas in the area of electronic cooling are welcome.

Prerequisite skills (not mandatory but will be an added advantage): CFD software, Matlab, Python, solar-related software.

Mode of selection:

• The selection is based on the entrance examination, followed by an interview/interaction.
• Entrance examination is exempted for those candidates with a valid GATE score in the last two years.

Qualifications: M.Tech or equivalent in any Energy/Thermal/CFD/Renewable Energy.

Remuneration: Rs.36,000/ per month for the first two years and Rs. 41,000/ per month from the third year onwards.
