• Solid skills in Core Java, JDK8/11, Collections, Threading, JDBC
• Sound and Demonstrable knowledge of OO Programming and Design Patterns
• Experience of Spring, Hibernate, Web Service, REST API, Microservices
• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design and Microservice Architecture
• Knowledge of PL/SQL and preferably PostgreSQL database
• Knowledge of Shell scripting, and working in a UNIX environment
• Experience of working in multi-tier and hybrid architecture

Desirable Knowledge

• Java certification preferred but not essential
• Knowledge of Security Technologies e.g. AD/LDAP, OAuth2, SSO, Kerberos, Spring Security, HashiCorp Vault
• Knowledge of Cloud Technologies e.g. AWS, Azure, Cloud Storage such as S3/HCP/Azure Storage
• Knowledge of Sprint Cloud stack e.g. Spring Cloud Config/Gateway/Stream/Data Flow
• Exposure to Messaging Technologies such as Kafka/RabbitMQ/Solace
• Ideally experience of HTML5/JavaScript/ReactJS for front-end development
• Ideally exposure to ActivePivot OLAP technology or Microsoft Analysis Service (SSAS), MDX/XMLA

Development Tools

• Exposure to JIRA, GIT / Stash with a sound understanding of branching strategies such as Git Flow
• Exposure to Continuous Build and Deployment Solutions such as Jenkins / Puppet / Chef
• IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse, Maven, SonarQube, Artifactory, Putty

Development Methodologies and Practices

• Worked within an agile environment using methodologies such as Scrum / KanBan / XP and Lean
• Demonstrable experience of unit testing, integration testing, end to end testing, with tools such as jUnit, AssertJ and Cucumber
• Demonstrable experience of performing code review and functional testing for functional and non-functional user stories
• Demonstrable experience of supporting QA team to do SIT and PT, and users to do UAT
• Able to make effective communications both internally and externally to solve problems

• Proven ability to deliver scalable, stable , fault tolerant testable enterprise solutions

DOMAIN KNOWLEDGE

• Good Market Risk domain experience preferred however is not essential. Domain knowledge on financial instruments and derivatives, trading and risk management, market data, and market risk processes and methodologies.
• Good understanding of risk measures, risk analysis and reporting
• Knowledge of at least one specific asset class / line of financial instruments would be valued

OTHER PREFERRED SKILLS

• Strong analytical & problem solving and creative skills
• Good communication skills in both written and oral English
• At least 4 years of hands on experience
• Ability to be organised and multi-tasked on different requirements across various stakeholders, and to work independently and under pressure
• Cultural sensitivity and awareness to work with a range of people from diverse background and geographies

• Should have a technical or numerate degree in subjects such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Economics, advanced degree preferred
