What you will do:

• Plan 3D printing projects by studying work orders, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings/CAD models, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and quality parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
• Build and develop fixtures
• Manage organization, safety and maintenance of the machine shop
• Reduce set up time and building time through process improvements
• Initiate DFM discussions with project team for manufacturing feasibility
• Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
• Inspect completed work for conformance to specification using tools such as calipers, height gauges, micrometers, rulers etc.
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments, respecting the criticality of requirements.
• Communicates with supervisor to offer suggestions pertinent to equipment, process needs & improvements.
• Provide inputs on Capex, Opex & budget planning.
• Performs other duties as directed.

What you need:

• Minimum 8 -12 years of experience with operation on latest 3D printing technologies like FDM, SLA & Polyjet, Metal additive technologies like DMLS & SLM, CNC Machines, tool setup, editing and inspection in prototype and production environments
• Minimum 5-7year experience managing schedules, workflow, safety, personnel and equipment
• Experience with 3D printing software like GRAB CAD and Insight along with CNC programming software application such as hyper MILL & Unigraphics – NX.
• Experience with planning, estimating, and reporting
• Ability to set up, program, operate and troubleshoot FDM and Polyjet 3D printers independently
• Ability to clean, repair and perform preventive maintenance on 3D printers.
• Excellent attention to detail
• Able to read & interpret technical drawings
• Work well independently and within a team and has the ability to coordinate efforts with fellow co-workers
• Considerable knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and standard practices of the trade
• Considerable knowledge of the maintenance and repair of machine shop tools and equipment.
• Manage, motivate, and engage a team of talented resources.
• Needs a strong appreciation of the importance of completing tasks on time
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Must be adaptable to a changing work environment and competing demands
• Familiarity with manufacturing excellence including modern techniques based on lean manufacturing, 5S, waste elimination and visual communication.
• A demonstrated ability to address practical problems and make decisions
