IT Infrastructure System Administrator

Job Level: P2

Overview

Maintains and supports enterprise-wide server and storage platforms, including Windows servers, virtual servers and data storage systems.

Responsibilities

Primary:
Administers, installs and troubleshoots a variety of operating systems.
Performs systems maintenance tasks, such as system back-up, recovery and file maintenance.
Schedules, installs, and tests system software upgrades.
Configures software and resolves technical problems.
Monitors and maintains software licensing and maintenance agreements.
Utilize best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services.
Escalation point for IT Operational issues related to Windows Infrastructure environments.
Escalation point for IT Operational issues related to data storage environments.

Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019/2022
Active Directory management
VMware 6.7 or 7.0 administration
Azure AD
Azure IaaS
Pure Storage array administration
NAS file storage administration – EMC and/or Cohesity
Avamar backup system administration
PowerShell scripting a plus

Experience:
Requires a bachelor’s degree plus 3 years’ experience, or 5 years’ experience in lieu of degree.
Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.
Demonstrated experience using an ITIL based ticketing system (ServiceNow)
Demonstrated project timeline management skills.
Demonstrated customer facing support experience.
Must have strong communication skills and the ability to articulate task management, priorities, and issues.
Strong troubleshooting skills with an attitude to learn new technologies.
