Job Description

Requirements and Responsibilities
Oracle database architecture design including clustering, physical and logical replication, monitoring
and management infrastructures
Strong awareness of underlying hardware technologies including network, server and storage
specifications and configurations
Expert knowledge of Oracle Exadata architecture including Database Machines, Storage Cells,
networking and database functionality specific to Exadata
Proven track record of successful Exadata deployments
Experience of managing and maintaining Exadata environments
Knowledge and experience of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Exadata Cloud Service
Knowledge of deploying OCI VMDB environments
Knowledge of other Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure and GCP
Benchmarking Exadata to prove value when compared to alternative hardware platforms
Review of suitability of applications for migration to Exadata and methods of achieving migration
with minimal downtime
Administrator level skills in Redhat and Oracle Enterprise Linux including network configuration,
network bonding and storage multipathing
Good Unix skills in Solaris, HP/UX and AIX
Ability to troubleshoot and identify issues peripheral to the database such as network, server and
storage root causes.
Oracle Database and Grid Infrastructure installation and upgrade versions 11g 19c.
Oracle database configuration reviews, audits and troubleshooting on versions 11g 19c for all
platforms supported by Oracle.
Deployment of OEM Cloud Control for environment monitoring and management
High availability and disaster recovery architecture including RAC and Active Data Guard, SE Standby
Knowledge of database replication technologies such as Streams and Oracle GoldenGate
Experience of deploying and managing Oracle GoldenGate including OGG Microservices
Expert knowledge on Backup and Recovery solutions with RMAN, as well as logical backups and
backup scripting.
Advanced performance tuning skills with expertise on Oracle performance analysis tools such as ASH
and AWR along with SQL Plan Baselines, SQL Profiles
Good understanding of latest DB new features and ability in applying them to provide a measurable
value on clients systems.
Oracle database logical database design including physical and logical data modeling.
Knowledge and Skills
Strong knowledge of all primary Oracle platforms including Unix, Linux and Windows
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and to seek direction as required
Strong presentation skills with the ability to present at the management level
