Job Description:

To Lead a team of Team Lead, engineers and designers and Guide in Concept design, macro feasibility during styling stage, engineering feasibility, Validation, Production build, launch and post launch support.

Lead and guide team in acheiving project milestones for components and assemblies, make and buy discussions, cost, weight and quality balancing with the Chief Engineer and Product Line Verticals(NPI), Ensure timely delivery at every milestones as per Project time plan and the schedule assigned by Project lead.

Manage design detailing and release activities and validation plan, tooling feasibility and kickoff, Tooling evaluation, Initial quality check, and sign off and tool sign off for a vehicle program for interior / exterior trims.

Advance Knowledge on Automotive Interior /Exterior Trims/Seating system components.

Domain Skills/Technical Competency :

Design, engineering and validation of Interior / Exterior Trims /seating , Minimum two complete Vehicle Design, engineering and Development cycle till launch and post launch support.

Knowledge of tooling of plastics, inspection fixtures, Review of first tooled up parts, material selection and plastics assembly and joining technology, Exposure on craftsmanship and PQ.

Awareness of all Automotive regulations and well conversant with Plastic components Design and engineering both trims and Aesthetic beadings. Should have completed atleast two complete engineering project from Concept to launch of a vehicle program .

Detailed understanding of mechanism parts related to automotive domain, its functions /expectations.

Should have ability to study work scope and estimate resource and skill set requirements.

Should be able to use CATIA, JT for Hands on Design Review, PLM knowledge for BOM management with relation to feature list .

Good working experience of Design and engineering processes (DFMEA, DVP, DFM, DFA and DFS)

Knowledge on IPR’s”.

Can foresee trends (technology and Performance Attributes ) in the market and can plan to remain competitive .

Ability to work well under pressure,Manageand prioritize multiple projects and adjust work accordingly, often against tight deadlines.

Plan and schedule design, engineering and release to meet all Project milestones.

Plan, assign and monitor resources .

Lead and mentor team.

Coordinate with all internal and external agencies and stake holders in TML/Suppliers for design, development and Launch of vehicle

Manage POST vehicle launch engineering support, Lead and guide the team to resolve all manufacturing, Quality, weight and Cost reduction activities. Participate in other initiatives taken up for improvements.

Create templates and specifications tools for customizing estimation, resource planning and other Engineering related activities.”
