Job Description

TE Connectivity’s Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design, recommend revisions and install quality control systems, develop and document analytical methods for establishing reliability of products and their components and conduct analysis on relative reliability with regards to cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment. Out teams develop, implement and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations and recommend corrective actions if necessary. They are responsible for policies and practices to comply with applicable government regulations and industry requirements related to product environmental compliance, the implementation and management of technical and testing standards and specifications, quality control and reliability programs governing materials, product and processes, resulting in the optimization of material and labor, as well as failure analysis, root cause, corrective action and customer communication.

What your background should look like:

ROLE OBJECTIVE The role demands to work in Metrology Team which supports product validation by creating dimensional inspection reports per part drawing. Will work closely with New Product Development organization, Quality and Operations to improve End to End Dimensional Metrology Value Stream. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support various global TE locations for Geometrical and Dimensional Metrology of New products (First Article Inspection, Post Tool Correction Dimensional Validation, PPAP Measurement Reports etc.).
• Regular interactions to understand measurement requirements from internal customers (Product Engineers / Mold Engineers) as per 2D/3D drawings and CAD Models, and effectively translating them into measurement programs in a Metrology Software.
• Responsible for quality & delivery of the reports. Adhere to the defined process but with a continual improvement mindset. Demonstrate ceaseless efforts in reviewing the existing process to identify the scope for improvement and support implementation.
• Effective management of workload in collaboration with the team members, considering forecast, employee leave plans, peak load situation etc.
• Knowledge sharing and mentoring based on team’s operational requirements and strategies
• Improve the knowledge and skill in the field of product measurement and validation in terms of GD&T – ASME/ISO GPS.
• Work directly with our immediate customers and suppliers to ensure quality standards are met.
• Work with the line manager to set performance objectives based on Organization’s roadmap, and review periodically to obtain necessary feedback for improvement.

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE

• BE/ BTech (Mechanical/Mechatronics) / Diploma in Mechanical with relevant experience.
• Knowledge of Product Validation Process in Automotive Industries (APQP, PPAP).
• Knowledge of various Techniques and Software used for Dimensional Inspection of Molded and Stamped Parts
• Knowledge of international standards and codes (ASME, ISO) related to product measurement and validation.

CRITICAL EXPERIENCE

• Overall 4+ years of experience in the areas of Metrology/Quality Assurance, in Manufacturing Industries is preferable.
• Thorough knowledge of GD&T (ASME / ISO GPS) concepts and experience with its application in product design and validation.
• Considerable Experience in any of 3D Metrology software like Volume Graphics, GOM, Polyworks, PCDMIS, Calypso etc. combined with latest metrology techniques including CMM, Laser/Light/CT scanning.

COMPETENCIES

• Technical capabilities: Expert functional/domain knowledge.
• Good knowledge of trends and technologies in Dimensional Metrology domain.
• Excellent technical communication skills.
• Fluent in English. German/Japanese/Mandarin/Korean/ will be added advantage.
• Ability to interact with and contribute in cross-functional initiatives and discussions.
