Team Overview
The Teach For India team in Hyderabad is an amalgamation of people from different backgrounds, professions, cultures and circumstances and yet this small team functions more like a family and less like co-workers. By the end of the academic year 2021-22, the Hyderabad City Operations will be in its tenth year of operations. We will have around 14 Staff and 400 Alumni leaders in the movement. Teach For India, Hyderabad currently has 84 Fellows in 31 schools. We also have nearly 200 Alumni based in the region contributing to the movement. The team works towards furthering Teach For India’s short-term theory of change in Hyderabad and the surrounding regions by getting committed individuals to dedicate 2 years to help us achieve our vision of “One Day all children will attain an excellent education.” The team also works towards creating committed and connected stakeholders to further Teach For India’s mission of building a movement of leaders to eliminate educational inequity.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities mentioned below are a broad set of initiatives that you will be required to undertake, through this role, and are not exhaustive.
Government Relations:
Building and strengthening critical relationships with key stakeholders in the local Government, local Governing bodies and other political & community leaders towards the vision of Teach For India Hyderabad
Leading key engagements with external organizations & non-profits to expand Teach For India Hyderabad’s network in the region.
Researching opportunities to penetrate Alumni/ Fellows in key roles within the system and liaising with multiple stakeholders to build collaborative partnerships in the region.
Preparing impact reports and other relevant documentation
School and Community Relations:
Managing the School and Community Relations portfolio towards maximising School & Community Impact in the city along with the portfolio lead in the city.
Thought partnering with the School and Community Relations lead, to design and organize regular interactions with school/government stakeholders, through cluster meetings and School Leaders Conferences.
Co-creating leads on the expansion and placement strategy for Teach for India Hyderabad based on location and demographic priorities of the region
Minimum Qualifications, Experiences and Expectations
Understanding the education landscape of Hyderabad city.
Strong project management skills.
Strong analytical (data/evidence gathering, analysis and interpretation, hypotheses framing and validation) and research (primary and secondary) capabilities.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Proficiency in Google Office Apps as well as Microsoft Office.
Minimum 4+ years work experience managing complex teams and projects to excellent outcomes at scale.
Minimum 1+ years of experience working with the Government
Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifications, Experiences and Expectations
Graduate Degree in policy/education/management desirable
Proficient in English, and Telugu or/Hindi
