Job Description

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensures on-time product development by collaborating with other cross functions to estimate reasonable and precise schedules.
• To drive the team & projects from requirements gathering – function specifications – design specifications – verification & validation plans – Verification & Validation of results
• To drive the design & development of control panel for various material processing crushing, screening and washing plants through selection of components such as relays, switch gears panels, timers, contactors, MPCB’s, VFD’s, control switches, meters etc.
• To guide team members in design and selection of various electrical components
• Should lead and guide team members in developing control architecture for PLC and associated software (Preferably Codesys).
• Finalize controls and control architecture for our machines in discussions with product team
• Should lead to deliver control design specifications which acts as input for software coding for our machine controls and control architecture
• Should lead and guide in selection of alternator and Engine-alternator matching to power our electrically & hydraulically operated machines
• Responsible to develop internal design guides, templates, check lists to ensure seamless design and release of electrical schematics and BoM for our crushing, screening and washing plants
• Should be able to select electrical motors for our various applications and loads
• Manages unit and development cost estimations of electrical systems and helps determine affordable and reliable material sources
• To provide electrical engineering recommendations and technical support on electrical engineering reviews, strategic plans, and projects
• Assists with allocation, budgeting, resource planning, and scheduling for various projects across business
• Creates production, quality validation, and evaluation requirements and tests and troubleshoots production dilemmas
• To help in streamlining production while meeting compliance and safety guidelines
• Manages electrical engineering team
• Apply modifications to existing products to ensure product sustenance with an eye on latest available technology and feasibility.
• To resolve problems at the root cause quickly and effectively and manage engineering change process.
• Follow Group standards of Terex MP in the areas of QFD, FMEA, design-for-manufacture, prototype development and field testing.
• Follow Group engineering standards and associated IT systems (including ECR & ECO processes); to ensure effective global management of released engineering data.

• Ensure current and new products meet relevant electrical standards applicable to electrical machinery and region-specific Regulations as applicable.
• Reduce manufacturing cost through improved design (Value engineering) in consultation with the Cross Functional Team.
• To investigate and address Customer Complaints in a timely manner.
• Aim for systematic approach for improving on standardization and process improvements.
• Stay updated on latest trends w.r.t crushing & screening Systems & Application, Machines, Machine component advancements and competitor design trends; apply latest technology to new and existing designs where appropriate to stay current and innovative.

This team is responsible for all or most Design and Development Engineering activities without major emphasis in any one functional area. Experience & Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, ideally with Electrical Design experience in the crushing, Screening and washing equipment
• 12+ years of industry experience in the field of design of control panel systems involving selection of various electrical components like relays, switch gears panels, timers, contactors, MPCB’s, VFD’s, control switches, meters etc.
• Competent user of electrical software like E3 familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
• Selection of various electrical components like relays, switch gears panels, timers, contactors, MPCB’s, VFD’s, control switches, meters etc.
• Should have a good working knowledge and technical expertise in electrical and electronic control systems.
• Ability to work with electrical AutoCAD.
• A good understanding of the various applications that the equipment can operate in along with an appreciation for the expected performance of the machines.
• Creativity and innovative thinking.
• Good English communication skill, both written and spoken;
• Good Presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Oracle ERP a plus.
