The Lab Engineering team has 2 charters: Create lab solutions (EMC, space defense test setup, bench handlers, etc.) to enable testing capability alignment to product strategies and also developing key validation automation infrastructure (LabVIEW, TestStand, etc). This role will extend across both charters and provide leadership into direction of those investments.

We are looking for a Lab Engineer that will establish strong forward looking strategies, solutions and infrastructure, scaling them worldwide focused on validation with opportunities in ATE test. You will be responsible for defining and implementing deliverables to address critical testing needs/gaps in close collaboration with validation and test SBE leaders across the company.

Unique Selling Features of the Job:

• Engaging teams all across Analog and Embedded teams to create solutions and infrastructure in support of their validation/test strategies.

• Guide, define, and drive the direction for validation while creating innovative technology.

• Help define next generation of automation infrastructure and toolsets.

• Highly technical role helping lead validation community and influencing across all TI business units.

• Critical role with high visibility and directly connected to TI-wide NPD execution improvements.

• Technical lead, working in collaboration with business units in defining lab and validation infrastructure.

• Also includes owning and creating reusable hardware that helps solve a problem for a platform development and can scale to be useful for other business units.

• The role requires collaboration with other business support entities like SEM, TTG, IT, GDL labs, etc.

• Interface with customer and provide feedback to help drive the internal development of our roadmap.

• Support central validation automation infrastructure.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience performing validation and/or test

• 3 years of experience PCB board design using tools such as Altium (preferred), Cadence, Mentor

• 5 years of experience developing automated software

• Understanding of semiconductor analog and mixed-signal circuits

• Experience with basic and advanced types of lab equipment

• Experience designing, building and deploying fully automated bench validation platforms (Hardware, Software, Instruments)

• Experience sustaining platforms across multiple generations of product families

• Strong system & hardware debugging skills

• Strong people and communications skills

• Forward and big picture thinker that is able to influence others

• Passion for making broad impacts across a complex and diverse organization from within a central team

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

• Use LabVIEW and TestStand to develop fully automated test solutions for validation data collection

• Developed high throughput validation platforms

• Experience in sustaining, scaling, and supporting HW or SW developments

• Experience developing advanced data analytics by creating Spotfire Templates, post-processing algorithms and analysis tools

• Knowledge of Tester Roadmap and selecting instrument configs based on product specifications

• Software and hardware development experience on roadmapped platforms (Eagle ETS, V93K)

• Experience in creating ATE hardware solutions across Qual, Char, and Production FT

• Validation methodology expert / technical leader

• Knowledge of functional and system level testing across automotive and industrial segments

• Experience in Python development
