Boeing India Engineering is currently looking for Lead Software Engineer to join their team in Bangalore, India. These positions will focus on supporting the AvionX and Embedded Software organization.

A successful candidate will understand the importance of collaboration as these positions will focus on working directly with the Chief Architect or Product Owner to implement technical solution helping to enable the business unit to meet their organizational goals.

Position Responsibilities :

• Designing the building blocks for the avionics systems.

• Define High Level and Low-Level Software requirements.

• Derive / Define software specifications from industry standards, aircraft level requirements, concept specifications, and trade studies

• Perform trade studies, and evaluate alternate designs to propose the most optimal software solutions for future avionics systems.

• Coordinating and communicating regularly with experts in Boeing organizations around the world.

• Estimate Code, test software development effort.

• Ensure SW architecture and Design is per the Software requirements

• Apply interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to design, develop and verify next generation software for avionics systems.

• Perform peer review on System and Software Requirements, Design and Test.

• Support SRR (Systems Requirements Review), PDR (Preliminary Design Reviews), CDR (Critical Design Reviews), TRR (Test Readiness Review) and Formal Qualification.

• Support project management by providing periodic status and required metrics data.

• Be a good team player in the agile team. Candidate should possess excellent communications skills to participate in Requirement/Design/Code/Test reviews, have a thorough understanding of version control and software quality attributes, such as testability, portability and maintainability, and enjoy a self-driven and collaborative development approach.

• Be dynamic and support management and leads to ensure successful product deliveries.

• Identify, communicate and mitigate the Risk, issues and Opportunities on a timely manner.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor’s degree or higher

• Experience/Familiarity with the Development and test in accordance with appropriate commercial or military regulatory requirements, such as: RTCA DO-178C, RTCA DO-254, DO-330, DO-331, DO-332, SAE ARP4754A, SAE ARP4761, 14 CFR Part 23/25/27/29 for commercial and military qualification and certification of aircraft systems

• Experience/ Familiarity with understanding of Vehicle Management System/ Flight Controls / Autonomy System Requirements and requirements elaboration (High Level and Low Level Software Requirements)

• Experience/Familiarity with software development in an embedded or real-time operating systems (RTOS) environment utilizing Model Based Design (MBD) techniques with tools such as MathWorks MATLAB / Simulink with Stateflow and Embedded Coder.

• Experience/Proficient with System and Software Technologies and Programming Languages like C/C++/Python/SysML and UML

• Experience/Familiarity with the hardware associated with Flight Control Systems, Avionics, Electrical System, Actuators, inertial sensors, Air Data Computers, Analog Sensors, Mission Systems, Crew Stations

• Experience/Familiarity in stage of involvement (SOI) reviews/audits, as well as Requirements Reviews, Design Reviews, and Test Readiness Reviews

• Experience/Familiarity with System Safety Assessments, Failure Hazard Analysis, and Certification/Test plans

• Experience/Familiarity in DevOps / Agile Methods

• Supports software project management functions

• Review and disposition problem reports written by Systems Engineers and Verification Engineers

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, very meticulous, patient and congenial

• Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Candidate must be a self-starter with a positive attitude, high ethics, and a track record of working successfully under pressure in a time-constrained environment.

• Proactively seek information and direction to successfully complete the statement of work.

• Must be flexible, with a high tolerance for organizational complexity and ability to work with team members across different cultures and time-zones

• Develop and maintain relationships / partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners to develop collaborative plans and execute on projects.

• Must have experience to mentor and teach juniors and partners to accomplish project and departmental goals and objectives.

• Strong experience with modern open source technologies and tools.

• Strong troubleshooting skills at network and OS level.

Desired Skills:

• Strong experience with modern open source technologies and tools

• Strong understanding of system and software architectures

• Strong experience developing software products, scalable applications using a range of software models including Object-oriented and functional design patterns

• Strong Aerospace and Embedded Application Programming experience

• Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve issues in a lab environment

• Agile development experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor’s degree or higher

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 11 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Masters + 11 or more years of related work experience, etc.).
