Job Description
- Prepares, compiles, and sorts documents for data entry.
- Transcribes source data into the required electronic format.
- Transfers information from paper formats into computer files using keyboards, data recorders, etc.
- Performs high-volume data entry using word processing, spreadsheet, database, or other computer software.
- Check source documents for accuracy before entry in the MIS and verifies integrity of data by comparing it to source documents.
- Enter data from source documents into the MIS.
- Reviews data for errors, missing pages, or missing information and resolves any discrepancies.
- Verify data and correct data where necessary following recommended data correction guidelines.
- Obtain further information for incomplete documents and engage relevant officers.
- Maintains a filing system and protects confidential information.
- Performs regular backups to ensure data preservation.
- Responds to requests to retrieve data from the database or electronic filing system.
- Uses basic office equipment (photocopy machine, facsimile machine, etc.).
- Maintains a satisfactory level of quality and productivity.
- Check and verify the completed work in the system for accuracy.
- Maintain logbooks or records of activities and tasks conducted also verifies and logs receipt of data.
- Completes additional assigned tasks as required.
- Responsible for the safety and protection of data.
