YOUR POSITION WITH TNC

IT Specialist is responsible for maintaining IT systems (including PC and LAN/WAN equipment) in addition to administrating, supporting, provisioning, installation/configuration, operations and maintenance of systems and related infrastructure the servers and assisting in implementation of new and upgrading of systems, organization’s standard hardware, software and voice/data network solutions. The IT Specialist will also be accountable for Outlook support. IT Specialist assist with implementing new systems and upgrading of existing systems, responsible for the purchase, installation, and life-cycle maintenance of PCs, servers and network connectivity equipment. As appropriate, IT Specialist will provide escalated on-site support of hardware, software and network connectivity issues. Acts as the primary point of communication between IT and primary operating business units and external vendors. Performs local administration and operations functions as appropriate in accordance with TNC and IT standards, policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE

• In cooperation with IT, local operations staff and key users, provides strategic, budgeting and disaster recovery/business continuity planning to offices and staff in multiple operating, business and functional units.
• Responsible for local inventory maintenance and software license management. Monitors security compliance in accordance with TNC and IT standards, policies and procedures. Responsible for maintenance of systems documentation such as IT operations manuals. Serves as the technical and communications liaison to and from stakeholders and office key users for IT communications, initiatives, needs assessments, etc.
• Responsible for procurement process, installation and life-cycle maintenance of IT hardware and software (i.e. PCs, peripherals, servers, networking equipment, operating systems/other software, voice and data communications systems) for primary Operating Units.
• Provides new TNC staff with PC/account setup and orientation.
• Provides escalated technical support that requires an on-site presence (server, NAS, network or PC equipment failure), including data backup recovery. Performs complex software/hardware troubleshooting, patches and re-installations in cooperation with the Enterprise Helpdesk and in accordance with established SLAs.
• Provides consulting/training/education services such as data management and staff training/orientation for standard TNC systems.
• Serve as the point of contact and accountable for the IT portion of new office setups, office expansions, etc. This includes relocation and/or installation of voice/data communications solutions, LAN and PC equipment.
• Responsible for local IT vendor, contract and outsourcing management.
• Participate in the identification, development and communication of new technology standards and best practices.
• Responsible for monitoring data backups in offices to ensure that they are completed on a regular basis.
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, enterprise systems and key processes, reviewing system/security logs and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.
• Assist with data center operations such as tape rotation and spare parts management.
• Investigate and resolve system issues. Independently manage IT vendors like, payment gateway service, Internet service provider, AMC vendors, etc. Ensure all IT infrastructure of the organization is working properly.
• Responsibility for responding to after-hours pager alerts from monitoring systems.
• Managing our internal servers and troubleshooting in case of failure.
• Well versed with System and Network administrative issues.
• Managing preparation of IT assets for all new joiners and solving their issues in case of any queries or concerns. Collaborate with Manager HR and Manager Admin for this purpose.
• Familiarity with physical, network and software security.
• Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
• Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
• Ensure compliance with internal guidelines and SOPs relating to IT as well as in line with IT laws of India.
• Any other related tasks as assigned by the Admin Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2 years of experience installing, configuring and supporting Microsoft Windows.
• 2 years of experience supporting Microsoft Outlook/Exchange-based email.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 7 years of experience in IT domain is desired for this role. The candidate should have provided similar services in international organizations or renowned Indian organizations with a minimum head count of 100 staff in a decentralized set-up.
• Multi-language skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
• Proven ability to communicate procedures, technical problems and status and basic action plans.
• Ability and initiative to learn new technologies.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting ability.
• Detailed oriented.
• Demonstrated ability to learn and follow established procedures.
• Must be a strong team player.

India It is a wholly owned Indian subsidiary of The Nature Conservancy. The company currently provides technical consultancy, monitoring & evaluation and other relate services in the domain of conservation and environment to it various clients. The company under Indian laws can also provide fee-based service to clients (development organizations, Corporates and Govt. Agencies) within and outside India. The company has all the required registrations under the relevant laws to provide such fee-based services in India.
