This position will be based in Bangalore, India within Corporate Infrastructure and Security.

How will you make an impact?

Monitoring plays a vital role at Thermo Fisher Scientific by ensuring that our business-critical infrastructure and applications are available and performant. You will help to define our strategy, maintain the tools, and work with business partners to implement new monitoring for critical applications.

A day in the Life:

• Build, configure, maintain, and document various tools and monitoring

• Identify areas of opportunity and suggest solutions to address

• Aid in the selection, testing and deployment of new tools and rationalization/consolidation efforts

• Provide on call support within a “follow the sun” model, as well as in rotation during weekends

In this role you will be part of the Tools and Automation team that owns infrastructure tools, monitoring, and automation functions for applications and infrastructure across 180+ sites and our primary data centers.

Keys to Success:

Education

Combined 8+ years higher education and/or experience in monitoring tool management or similar

Experience

• Handled and supported a global environment (on-premises and cloud)

• Prior experience in a highly regulated environment is a plus!

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Monitoring/observability software (e.g., HP Operations Manager, SolarWinds, Datadog, InfluxDB, Prometheus, Grafana)

• Shell scripting (bash, PowerShell), and Python (preferred), Go, etc.

• Knowledgeable in VMware, Windows, and Linux operating systems

• AWS (preferred) or other cloud providers, Azure, or Google Cloud
